Monarch Cove Inn is a historic bed-and-breakfast and event estate perched on Depot Hill in Capitola, California, overlooking Monterey Bay. Established in 1895, the 2.5-acre property was originally developed as a private retreat by two English families and later became a celebrated resort that hosted notable guests including actress Mary Pickford. The estate received its current name in 1991 in honor of the thousands of monarch butterflies that migrate through its protected sanctuary each year from mid-October through mid-February. The property features nine Victorian guestrooms and two two-bedroom suites, along with a network of flower-filled gardens, mature trees, and an ocean-cliff setting that provides sweeping views of Monterey Bay. Hakone Estate and Gardens is one of the oldest residential-style Japanese gardens open to the public in the Western Hemisphere, established in 1915 on 18 acres in Saratoga, California, at the edge of the Santa Cruz Mountains overlooking Silicon Valley. The estate combines authentic Asian gardens, historic buildings, and a serene natural setting that sets it apart from conventional event venues in the Bay Area. Three event spaces accommodate gatherings of varying sizes, from intimate dinners to outdoor receptions of up to 180 guests. The Madrone Mound, an outdoor reception area tented from late fall through mid-spring, hosts evening events for up to 180 guests. The Cultural Exchange Center seats up to 50 guests for dinner and opens onto an outdoor viewing deck, while the Lower House (Dry Garden House) offers a more intimate setting for up to 40 guests. Ceremony and reception areas are wheelchair accessible. Hakone welcomes weddings, receptions, corporate events, and special occasions. Aptos Village Park is a 10.3-acre County of Santa Cruz park tucked between the Santa Cruz beaches and the Aptos hills, about 15 minutes south of downtown Santa Cruz. Mature redwoods and stately trees frame an expansive lawn, a charming gazebo, and Aptos Creek, creating a naturally scenic backdrop for outdoor celebrations. The park's primary event space is the Clubhouse and one-third Lawn, which accommodates up to 200 guests during peak season (April through October) and up to 100 guests in winter. The rental includes a fully equipped kitchen, 125 chairs, 20 six-foot banquet tables, and seven picnic tables. Amplified sound is permitted outdoors until 8 p.m., with indoor amplification allowed later in the evening. Aptos Village Park hosts weddings, outdoor ceremonies, vow renewals, private parties, and festivals — all managed through Santa Cruz County Parks. Reservations can be made up to one year in advance on a first-come, first-served basis.

Site rentals are available at Pie Ranch for a range of occasions. Our farm welcomes retreats, conferences, birthday parties, and other special events in addition to weddings! The Roadside Barn at Pie Ranch is a nice indoor facility with outdoor tables and a music system for evening use. Our "Lower Slice" rental is a lovely outside place with a meadow and a rustic outdoor kitchen to use. We have a fully equipped classroom available for retreats and conferences. All weddings and events are held at our primary facility, which is located at 2080 Cabrillo Highway in Pescadero, California. On the gorgeous Highway 1, approximately 30 minutes north of Santa Cruz and an hour south of San Francisco, we are near to Ao Nuevo State Park. This Arts and Crafts bungalow, established by the ladies of We and Our Neighbors, is a historic landmark and California's oldest continuously utilized women's clubhouse. The San Jose Clubhouse welcomes you to host your next event with fewer than 80 attendees. This charming establishment has been meticulously preserved and upgraded to retain its original charm. It's perfect for modest weddings, anniversaries, bridal or baby showers, memorials, business meetings, birthday parties, boutiques, art displays and music recitals, and more, thanks to its comfortable masonry fireplace, hardwood floors, and stained glass lighting. "We and Our Neighbors" are our auxiliary and celebration guides, for which we are grateful. We and Our Neighbors, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, owns the San Jose Clubhouse. "We and Our Neighbors is dedicated to fostering educational and social events among its members, conserving the historical clubhouse, and supporting important causes in the adjacent as well as broader community," their mission statement states.
