Heisen House Vineyards is a small, family-run winery and cidery set on a historic property in Battle Ground, Washington, just outside Portland. The winery makes its wines and hard ciders on site using a natural, minimal-intervention approach — wild ferment, cellar aging, and no chemical additions — and draws fruit from estate vines grown on the property (Gamay Noir, Gewürztraminer, Tempranillo, and Orange Muscat) alongside grapes and apples sourced from Clark County, the Columbia Gorge, and Eastern Washington. The grounds are set up for lingering: guests can sip a sampler flight or a glass or bottle of wine or cider while relaxing among the property's seating areas, hammocks, firepits, and grassy lawns, with leashed dogs welcome. Visitors can bring their own picnic or choose from the winery's prepackaged snacks, and the surrounding area offers nearby hiking, biking, rivers, waterfalls, and lakes for making a full day of it. Clackamas River Farm is a special events venue set on 45 historic acres of pasture along the Barlow Road, a section of the Oregon Trail, near Eagle Creek, Oregon. The property is surrounded by old-growth trees and sits in a valley with nearly half a mile of frontage along the Clackamas River, giving couples a private, pastoral setting for their celebration. At the heart of the farm is an 1890 Victorian farmhouse alongside a big red barn, both set among the property's fields and gardens. The covered barn area seats up to 200 guests, with additional uncovered seating available and canopy tents available for rent, and the farm's 45 acres offer a number of possible ceremony sites. Rental includes event coordination, event insurance, garbage service, and portable restrooms, and the venue can refer clients to preferred planners, caterers, and florists. Clackamas River Farm books only one event per weekend, giving clients Friday for setup, Saturday for their event, and Sunday for pickup so they can celebrate without feeling rushed.
