Salt Lick Cellars is a wine garden and tasting room in Driftwood, Texas, situated next door to the original Salt Lick Restaurant, about 15 minutes from downtown Austin. The Roberts family began planting the surrounding vineyard in 2006, setting 35 acres with Tempranillo, Mourvédre, Syrah, and Grenache; the first bottled Tempranillo was released in 2008, and the tasting room opened in 2009. Guests gather on a shaded, wrap-around patio and deck beneath ancient Live Oak trees, surrounded by the same vines that produce the wine poured inside. Alongside its own line of reds and whites, Salt Lick Cellars pours other Texas-grown wines and local craft beer. Private events for up to 75 guests are available Monday through Friday, with decorative lighting strung through the oaks for evening gatherings.

The Caswell House is a limestone mansion built circa 1899 in downtown Austin, one of three neighboring houses designed by architect A.O. Watson in a mix of Gothic, Chateauesque, and Renaissance styles. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated a Texas Historic Landmark, the house sits at the corner of 15th Street and West Avenue and is owned and operated by the Austin Junior Forum, a nonprofit whose rental proceeds fund community grants. The two-story house hosts weddings, receptions, luncheons, fundraisers, and recitals across its courtyard, balcony, and indoor spaces. A Steinway piano sits in the second-floor turret, and the balcony overlooks the Texas Capitol and downtown skyline. Two full kitchens connected by an elevator support flexible catering, with hosts free to bring their own caterer or choose from the venue's preferred list.
Byrne-Reed House
1410 Rio Grande St, Austin, TX 78701, USA- Spaces for 60 Guests
Built more than a century ago in downtown Austin, the Byrne-Reed House is a restored Texas vernacular residence that now serves as the headquarters of Humanities Texas. Designed by architect Charles H. Page, the house was renovated over the course of a year following nearly a decade of planning, and the restoration went on to earn eleven architectural awards along with coverage in Texas Architect, Humanities Magazine, Preservation, and Old House Journal. The house's first floor offers roughly 2,600 square feet of gracious public space, including an entrance foyer, dining room, gallery, and living room, all centered on the Julius and Suzan Glickman Room. A 1,000-square-foot wraparound porch and east and south terraces extend the setting outdoors, while a second-floor library adds further character. A catering kitchen, elevator, and large restrooms round out the building, which is ADA accessible with parking available. The Byrne-Reed House has hosted teacher workshops and Humanities Texas's annual Holiday Book Fair, reflecting its role as a gathering place for the community as well as the organization's own offices.
