    Wish Well House

511 S Main St, Georgetown, TX 78626, USA

When Katy and Justin took over a portion of their family business and transformed the event rental company into Sweet Sunday Events in 2009, they were involved in the Austin wedding industry for the first time. Sweet Sunday Event Rentals and Resources swiftly established itself as a top supplier for wedding planning, floral design, and event rentals in Central Texas. As a full-service design firm, Katy and Justin received press coverage in a variety of national and regional publications, including Style Me Pretty, Green Wedding Shoes, The Knot, and a plethora of others. As the company expanded, Katy went to courses taught by some of the top designers in the nation and started her own floral design company, Without Wax, Katy. Through it, Katy gained widespread acclaim as a top designer, not just in Austin and Central Texas but also across the entire State, planning weddings for brides and grooms there as well. However, Katy and Justin always had bigger plans in mind. They wanted to build the wedding site they had looked for but couldn't locate when they first got married years earlier. A contemporary, industrial warehouse atmosphere that wasn't present at the time in Austin or Central Texas. A place you could enter where the architecture and surroundings did the most of the job for you. Something distinctively industrial, yet soft, delicate, and romantic enough to provide an intimate setting for a wedding. As luck would have it, Justin happened to pass a building with a for sale by owner sign nailed into the lawn one day when he was out making an event delivery to the nearby university in Georgetown, Southwestern. He thought it was cool because it was close to the famous Square and immediately called Katy, saying, "You might think I'm crazy but..." The Union on Eighth, the region's first industrial arena, was thereafter established. Nine years later, Katy and Justin were prepared to bring new life to another historic property. The Wish Well House was introduced in August 2021, and the rest is history.

Mayfield Park - Cottage and Gardens is a 23-acre historic property in Austin, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Its centerpiece is a white cottage built between 1860 and 1880 and purchased in 1909 by Allison Mayfield, a former Texas Secretary of State and Railroad Commission chairman, whose family added the cottage's porches and a stone-and-wood pergola patio. Just under two acres of walled garden surround the cottage, with water lily and lotus ponds enclosed by antique rock walls, 32 volunteer-tended garden beds, and the largest stand of Sabal Texana palm trees north of the Rio Grande. Free-roaming peafowl, descended from birds gifted to the park in 1937, along with herons, koi, and turtles, share the grounds. The property hosts small private gatherings, including weddings, baby showers, proposals, and memorial services, as well as meetings, lectures, classes, and small retreats. Up to 45 guests may gather inside the cottage, with a maximum of 100 guests total across the cottage and gardens. Amplified sound is not permitted, and the venue does not accommodate children's birthdays, family reunions, or large public events.

10463 Sprinkle Rd, Austin, TX 78754, USA
    • Spaces for 280 Guests

At Barr Mansion we believe in creating a space where every moment is remarkable. We are a wedding and events venue located in the heart of Austin, just northeast of downtown and fifteen minutes from the capital – seven acres of organic gardens, beautiful landscapes, and thoughtfully designed buildings. Barr Mansion captures the essence of contemporary, organic beauty – offering unparalleled settings, full service coordination and exceptional, farm-to-table cuisine. Our tale starts in 1898 when Tilly and William Braxton Barr bought 223 acres of land in Sprinkle, Texas, which contained a post office, churches, a school, and a train station. They then built our historic home for their family to live in. The community remained populated up until the 1930s until being eventually included into the expanding metropolis of Austin. During the century, the Barr family continued to live in the Mansion, but sadly it gradually fell into disrepair. I'd had the desire to restore a historic structure for my entire life, and when I first came across this site in 1981, I felt with all of my heart that it was the appropriate place to do it. When Austin started to learn about and share my love for this hidden jewel, the years of construction and labor that I had invested while raising my own family in the Mansion, transformed into a passionate life in the events sector. I initially prepared all of the food for the visitors myself, but as time went on, professional event staff was employed, and the area gradually grew into the magnificent three buildings and gourmet kitchen where we now host parties. Even though the Mansion has been a steadfast part of Texas history for more than a century, we didn't stop there. We added an 18th-century Artisan Ballroom to the property in 2000, having it brought piece by piece from New York because I knew Austin would enjoy the building's many large glass windows that give visitors the impression that they are outside while inside. When Christopher Columbus first came to America, some of the barn's timbers were still trees, giving the place even more historical significance. The farmhouse, our most recent addition to the property and a contemporary twist on an open-air pavilion, was completed in 2014. It gives visitors even more possibilities to enjoy the expansive grounds and gardens. I am incredibly proud of our history and where we have come from, and I am eager to share my life's work with you.
