The Winery at La Grange sits on land originally part of Robert "King" Carter's Bull Run Tract in Haymarket, Virginia, and traces its centerpiece — a three-story red brick manor house — to builder George Green. Boxwoods planted generations ago have grown to over 20 feet, forming a natural archway along the stone path that connects the manor house to the winery. Benoni E. Harrison purchased the property in 1827 and later served as Prince William County's delegate to the Virginia General Assembly; his name lives on today in Benoni's Lounge, the estate's stone-walled cellar. The winery grows 6.3 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Petit Manseng grapes on the working farm, producing wines described as ones where "every glass tells a story." For weddings, private events, and corporate gatherings, the property's Barn Building serves as its main event space, with suggested floor plans accommodating up to 150 guests and wedding rentals that include the ballroom, bar, bridal suite, patios, kitchen, and grounds.

For all wine tastings, it is recommended that you make a reservation. Buses, limousines, and vans are not permitted unless a group rental space has been approved. On our 12-acre property, we offer seated indoor wine tastings by appointment and walk-ins, limited reservations for indoor and outdoor tasting tables, as well as a variety of walk-in tables throughout the vineyard. Prince William, Virginia's Bel Air 1740 is a sophisticated, new English garden venue that is located approximately 25 minutes south of Washington, DC in Prince William. Beloved Bel Air is a private 25 acre enclave of spectacular rural beauty nestled in the heart of a bustling urban region with easy access to Uber / taxi service as well as a wide variety of hotels, restaurants, and other services. Because of its beautiful rolling fields, elegant lawns, and lovely English gardens, Bel Air 1740 is a beautiful venue for indoor and outdoor receptions, pictures, and ceremonies. It also has a new Wedding Barn for ceremonies and receptions. The 7000 square foot climate controlled wedding barn has a capacity of 150 guests (with a permit, it may accommodate up to 200+ guests). A wheelchair accessible facility on a single level has been constructed. An imposing great hall with 25 foot ceilings and a cutting edge theatrical sound and lighting system are among the many highlights of the barn. The barn is equipped with two large ready rooms, a huge warming kitchen, and a wide covered terrace that can be enclosed with glass panels and heated during the colder months. Outdoor ceremonies and cocktail receptions can be held in a variety of locations on the picturesque grounds and against the historic Bel Air Manor House background. Guests can also hold cocktail parties and take photos in the beautiful vintage tobacco barn that is on the property.

The History of Rockwood Manor Retreats and Events After leaving Washington, D.C., Carolyn Gangwer Caughey (pronounced "Coy") traveled west along the Old Conduit Road (now MacArthur Boulevard) to her newly purchased estate near Great Falls. Mountains of tall cedars, poplars, and oaks cover rock-studded hillsides that gently slope down to a stream valley. A name for Mrs. Caughey's country estate was suggested to her by the natural elements almost immediately: Rockwood. Carolyn was a well-to-do socialite whose ancestors traced their roots back to the American Revolution. She was also a successful businesswoman who had a passion for architecture and a keen eye for profit in the real estate market. According to Who's Who in the Nation's Capital, she is "active in civic betterment, particularly in relation to better-constructed and better-planned homes," among other things. It also mentions that she was responsible for designing one of the largest apartment buildings in the nation's capital at the time. As a result, many of her close friends were not surprised when she revealed that she had designed and personally supervised the construction of her new home. Visiting auctions and antique dealers in the area on a regular basis assisted her in the furnishing of her country estate. Celebrations This historic manor house, which can accommodate up to 120 guests for a ceremony on the wooded Patio, followed by cocktails on the Veranda and a sit-down dinner in the rustic elegance of Brooke Hall, is the focal point of our property. When the party is over, the Hoover Hall ballroom and festive Sun Porch are transformed into a two-level party space for dessert and dancing. Chrysalis Vineyards sits on more than 400 acres of historic farmland in Loudoun County, Virginia — land George Washington once called "the breadbasket of the American Revolution." Fifty of those acres are planted with vines, including what the vineyard describes as the largest planting of Norton, Virginia's native grape, in the world, alongside other European varieties suited to the local soil and climate. Private events are hosted at the Champe Ford Events Center, a dedicated space on the property separate from the winery's main tasting room. Briar Patch Bed & Breakfast Inn is a historic farm dating to 1805, set on 47 rolling acres with mountain views in Middleburg, Virginia's wine country, about 20 minutes from Dulles Airport and an hour from Washington, D.C. What began as a one-room log cabin grew through the 19th century into the estate known as Hillcrest, which withstood a Civil War battle between Union and Confederate forces before falling into disrepair; new owners restored the property in 1965 and renamed it The Briar Patch, adding a swimming pool and gardens while preserving its historic character. Today the estate hosts weddings and private events for up to 200 guests in The Fox Den, a nearly 5,000-square-foot event building with a large caterer's kitchen and space for ceremonies, cocktail receptions, and dinner and dancing. The grounds also offer multiple outdoor ceremony sites and a pool area for rehearsal dinners.
