Roaring Camp Railroads is a historic narrow-gauge railroad and event destination nestled among ancient coastal redwoods in Felton, California, in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The 1880s-themed property transports guests back in time through a covered bridge gateway into a working heritage site where steam locomotives dating to 1890 still carry passengers over trestles and through towering groves to the summit of Bear Mountain. The UC Santa Cruz Arboretum & Botanic Garden is a collection of gardens and research areas on the University of California Santa Cruz campus that totals approximately 100 acres in size. The Los Altos History Museum occupies a unique corner of Los Altos, California — one of the few remaining apricot orchards in the Santa Clara Valley. Opened in 2001 on a publicly accessible campus at 51 S. San Antonio Road, the museum's three-level, 8,200-square-foot main building was constructed entirely with private donations before ownership transferred to the City of Los Altos in 2002. The museum campus encompasses the main building, which houses rotating and permanent exhibitions, and the J. Gilbert Smith House — a restored 1905 farmhouse set across a landscaped courtyard. Gardens and grounds connect the historic structures and remain open to the public even when the buildings are closed. For private events, the museum offers both indoor and outdoor rental spaces: the garden setting among heritage oak trees and the remaining apricot orchard, and the main gallery inside the period building. Only 10 minutes away from the sandy dunes upon the beaches of Monterey Bay — where dolphins are riding waves, sea otters are cracking shells on their bellies, and waterspouts from whales are observed. We have multiple venue spaces for rent for your next event as well as rooms for rent in our Farmhouse for overnight stays. We also have a pool and hot tub and bbq area that is available to rent for an extra fee(under renovation, available end of June 2024).
