Ideal Glass Studios is an artist-run film & TV production studio, founded in 2004 by native New Yorker, actor, and artist, Willard Morgan. The original East Village space, was transformed from a 1950’s glazier’s workshop into an independent gallery space and art collective. It was run by a small team of creatives dedicated to fostering a collaborative creative community, and featured rotating mural walls, art exhibitions, film screenings and multidisciplinary performances. In 2017, Morgan opened The Atrium and The Mansion in NYC’s West Village. Here, high-profile film, TV, music, fashion, and art vanguards gather regularly to collaborate. The original space’s DIY vibe lives on in its caring and eccentric team, encouraging creators to present their ideas clearly and express their vision freely. Before it became our beloved event venue, the historic Crystal Plaza was originally a residential mansion. The initial Livingston, New Jersey-based residence was built in the late 1800s by famed architect Stanford White, who was responsible for designing the Tiffany building on Fifth Avenue, the original Madison Square Garden complex and the arch at Washington Square Park in Manhattan, among other landmark structures. While the restored building has since been reincarnated as one of the leading wedding and event spaces in the tri-state area, it still maintains the feeling of its 19th century grandeur, making it a distinct and picturesque setting for special days of all kinds.
