The Sacramento Zoo sits within William Land Park in Sacramento, California, offering one of the region's most distinctive settings for private events, weddings, and corporate gatherings. As a nonprofit accredited by the American Association of Zoos and Aquariums and home to over 300 native, rare, and endangered animals, the zoo provides an atmosphere that no traditional event venue can replicate. Twelve distinct event spaces accommodate gatherings of nearly any size — from an intimate 10-guest Koi Pond setting to full zoo buyouts for up to 2,500 guests. The open-air Flamingo Lake Patio hosts receptions for up to 225 alongside sweeping lake views and resident flamingos, while the Kampala Conference Room provides an indoor option with audio/visual capabilities for up to 80. Four dedicated ceremony sites — including Gibbons Alley, the Amphitheater Stage, the Rare Feline Courtyard, and the Tall Wonders Viewing Deck — give couples a variety of backdrops for their ceremony. Oakland Zoo is a wildlife conservation destination and event venue situated in the scenic hills of Oakland, California, at the edge of Knowland Park. Founded in 1922 by naturalist Henry A. Snow as The Snow Museum, the institution has grown into a nationally accredited zoological park housing over 850 native and exotic animals across habitats that include an African Savanna, Tropical Rain Forest, and the California Trail. The Conservation Society of California, which operates the zoo, earned recognition as a Best Event Space by Oakland Magazine in 2025. Private events are hosted at the Snow Building, a historic indoor-outdoor venue nestled within the zoo's grounds. The space accommodates up to 200 guests for corporate outings, birthday parties, graduation celebrations, weddings, luncheons, and cocktail receptions. Panoramic windows and a private outdoor patio frame views of the Bay Area and zoo landscape, while full-service catering is provided exclusively through SSA Group, emphasizing locally sourced and sustainable ingredients.

It is a rare opportunity to host an outside garden wedding or other special event at the Landmarks Art and Garden Center, which is a carefully restored historic cottage and garden from Tiburon's first years. It is a garden consisting of a big flat lawn and four terraces connected by curving brick paths, all of which have spectacular views of Richardson Bay. The property is a square acre with stunning views of Richardson Bay. There are benches scattered throughout the garden, each with a unique perspective of the harbor and neighboring hills. Heritage trees, a rose arbor, vibrant floral beds, and a pagoda birdhouse are among the elements of the landscape. Nestled in the garden is the farm house, which was erected in the 1870s when Tiburon was a thriving railroad hub and has been renovated. In addition to two bright and airy rooms, the cottage has an old wood-burning stove that adds to its charm. A fire-school bell from 1890, which is sounded for special occasions, can be found just outside the building. Out of 96 design teams that entered, Mr. Graves was the winner of a 1984 architectural design competition in association with the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art to design the Clos Pegase winery. The portico is the entrance to the winery with its grandiose columns and open roof represents the integration of the winery structure and the natural environment in which it is located. This allusion to ancient, Mediterranean architecture also embodies the melding of indoors and outdoors. The Clos Pegase heritage garden emerged in the summer of 2015 as a commitment to water conservation and design. The project, in partnership with renowned San Francisco garden design company Flora Grubb Gardens, replaced water-thirsty lawns with a special collection of rare, drought-tolerant plants and trees.
