The Historic Adobe Building is a California Historical Landmark and National Register of Historic Places property located at 157 Moffett Boulevard in Mountain View, near the edge of downtown. Built in 1934 as a New Deal Civil Works Administration project, the structure features Spanish Revival architecture — terracotta clay tile roofing, thick adobe brick walls, decorative concrete columns, and wrought iron details that reflect early California building tradition. After a community preservation campaign, the building was restored to its 1935 appearance and reopened in 2001. The venue offers two complementary event spaces managed by the City of Mountain View's Recreation Department. The Great Room accommodates up to 100 guests for indoor dining and features exposed trusses, hand-hewn lumber, and a modern catering kitchen. The adjacent patio and lawn area provides an outdoor setting with lush landscaping and a decorative fountain, suited for ceremonies or al fresco receptions. Red Poppy Art House is a 650-square-foot multidisciplinary arts venue occupying a storefront corner at 23rd and Folsom in San Francisco's Mission District. Founded in 2003, the space carries a charm likened to an old-world café crossed with a painter's studio and living room — a character built into the bones of what was once a painter's living quarters. The venue hosts over 150 diverse performances, exhibitions, workshops, and artist residencies each year, drawing musicians, poets, dancers, and visual artists from across the Bay Area and internationally. For private events, the space accommodates up to 39 seated or 49 standing guests, making it well suited for intimate wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, cocktail parties, and company gatherings. A French-made Pleyel upright piano, quality sound equipment, natural light, and cozy nooks throughout the room give each event a warmth that larger venues rarely match.

Yoshie Akiba, the creator and namesake of Yoshie's, opened a tiny sushi bar in North Berkeley in 1972 with her two best friends Kaz Kajimura, a journalist and carpenter, and Hiroyuki Hori, a painter and Japanese cook. Yoshi's acquired a reputation as the Bay Area's top site for superb Japanese cuisine and jazz music over the following 40 years, becoming one of the world's most regarded jazz venues. Yoshi's is now a 17,000-square-foot award-winning 310-seat live performance venue with a state-of-the-art sound system and design in the middle of Oakland's Jack London Square.
