The Alliance Convention Center is a multi-purpose venue in Burlington, North Carolina, located conveniently between Greensboro and Raleigh. Its newest and largest addition, completed in July 2017, spans more than 14,000 square feet and stands as Alamance County's largest event space, seating up to 1,700 guests theater style or 1,000 for a banquet. The center suits a wide range of gatherings, from corporate conferences and concerts to weddings, dance recitals, and large celebrations. Each space can be configured with tables, chairs, and drapes, and the venue keeps three large projector screens, multicolored lighting, and full audio/visual equipment on hand. The property has been stewarded organically for 25 years and runs entirely on solar power, offering a natural backdrop for celebrations rooted in the land. Originally established in 2005 as The Eco-Institute, the farm has hosted weddings, retreats, memorial services, and corporate events while maintaining an active organic garden and a commitment to sustainable practices. The venue accommodates up to 180 guests across several distinct spaces: a private grove surrounded by trees, a pond-side gazebo, a seasonal organic garden, two barn lofts for indoor reception and dining, and a fire pit area for evening gatherings. Weekend and destination wedding packages include exclusive use of the property, a catering kitchen, fire pit, tables and chairs for 100, and climate-controlled overnight accommodations — with glamping in yurts and yomes available for groups of up to 40. Ayr Mount Historic Site

Ayr Mount is a Federal-era brick house set in the North Carolina Piedmont near Hillsborough, built in 1815 for the merchant William Kirkland and his wife, Margaret. Kirkland named the house for his former home in Ayr, Scotland, and commissioned it after establishing himself as one of Hillsborough's leading merchants — a grand brick residence that stood apart in a region of modest wooden dwellings. Once the center of a working farm of more than 500 acres, the property is crossed by a colonial-era road that traces a much older Native American trail. The house showcases the craftsmanship of the early nineteenth century, including the brick masonry of William Collier, the decorative joinery and mantels of Elhannon Nutt, and the stair and wainscoting of John Joyner Briggs. Acquired by Richard H. Jenrette in 1985 and carefully restored to its original paint colors and furnishings, Ayr Mount remains a remarkably intact example of the period and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today the house and grounds are stewarded by the Richard Hampton Jenrette Foundation, which opens the site for tours, educational programs, and events.
