The Statler features over 23,000 sq. ft. of flexible, indoor/outdoor event space for your next corporate retreat, board meeting, special occasion, wedding or social event. With five restaurants/bars that can be used for events, as well as an outdoor rooftop pool, the options for an incredible event are endless. Designed for the Statler Hotels chain, the hotel opened after that chain's sale to Hilton Hotels and was completed in 1956 at a cost of $16 million, The Statler Hilton Dallas was the first major hotel built in Dallas in nearly three decades and the largest convention facility in the South. Opening day included luminaries from both coasts converging on Dallas for a four-day celebration. Architect William B. Tabler introduced several new construction techniques and materials. The first full application of its kind, a cantilevered reinforced flat-slab system, reduced the number of columns needed and created a soaring building. Tabler was also one of the first in the country to use a thin-skinned curtain wall design consisting of 1 3/8" panels made of glass and colored porcelain coated metal. Its innovative features made it a significant contributor to the Modern movement in Dallas and for the state of Texas. The Y-shaped building contained 1,001 guest rooms over 18 floors plus a rooftop heliport and a ballroom capable of hosting 2,200 people. The room count was reduced to 710 after numerous renovations.

    Husband and wife team Jen and Marty Reyes set off on the quest to bring a tropical escape to Dallas in 2015. When the brick and mortar dream seemed too far out of reach, Marty came up with a plan to get Swizzle's name out there by doing Tiki pop-ups. The first was in May of 2016. They were delighted to meet other tikiphiles and guests who shared their passion for tropical cocktails and immersive experiences. As the years went on, the search for a “home” grew and so did the events. The duo and their incredible team of talented bartenders soon started producing Dallas Tiki Week with the Dallas USBG and found an even wider tiki audience across the great state of Texas. ​ In 2019 their dream finally came true and they found a place they could call home. Swizzle opened on Lower Greenville in November of 2020. ​ We are a Beachcomber bar focusing on telling the story of the history of Tiki Art, the craft of tropical cocktails, where these ideas came from and where they are headed in our modern culture. Our walls are decorated with artists old and new to showcase these transitions and our menu too starts with, “classics” and moves to original cocktails to tell that story similar to the way Donn the Beachcomber once did.
