Temescal Beach House is a historic lakeside event venue in Oakland's Temescal Regional Recreation Area, situated along the shores of Lake Temescal near the intersection of Highway 13 and Highway 24. The structure was built by the Works Progress Administration and opened to the public in 1940, originally serving as changing facilities for park visitors and the original headquarters of the East Bay Regional Park District. Today the venue is managed by the East Bay Regional Park District and welcomes weddings, corporate events, holiday parties, fundraisers, and private celebrations. The Beach House offers two connected indoor rooms and a large outdoor flagstone patio. The Fireside Room seats up to 56 guests around a gas fireplace, while the adjoining Lakeview Meeting Room seats 24 and features large windows framing views of the calm lake. Together the rooms accommodate up to 80 guests seated or 130 standing. The wraparound flagstone patio — bordered by a vertical garden with panoramic lake views — serves as a popular ceremony and reception extension. MacArthur Park Restaurant and Bar occupies California Historical Landmark No. 895 at 27 University Avenue in Palo Alto — a building constructed during World War I as a Y.W.C.A. Hostess House, designed to serve as a safe meeting place for women and children visiting troops training at nearby Camp Fremont in Menlo Park. The structure has since been preserved as a landmark and transformed into a full-service American restaurant and event venue steps from the Caltrain station. The restaurant offers five private event spaces — the Veteran's Room (100 seated), the Julia Morgan Room (40 seated), Camp Fremont (30 seated), and an outdoor Patio (100 seated, 150 standing) — plus the option to buy out the full dining room for gatherings of up to 550. Minimonies at Ravenswood At Ravenswood Historic Site, we are introducing outdoor "minimonies" (mini-ceremonies). Exchange your vows in an outdoor environment with up to 50 guests while keeping all aspects of social distancing in mind. Choose from a romantic garden gazebo, a rustic covered tree patch, or the classic shaded tree archway for your ceremony. Included are the bride's room, tables, chairs, restrooms, parking, and a building attendant. Applicants have the option of hosting a small event with a champagne toast and individually prepared food. A minimum of four (4) hours is required; any additional hours will be charged at the hourly rental rate. Facility Event Rental Process at Ravenswood Applications are accepted eighteen (18) months in advance of the requested date, on a first-come, first served basis; preferred dates, times, and facility location vary. Applicants must submit a completed and signed Facility Rental Application, as well as a refundable deposit, to book and reserve the day. All other rental fees must be paid 45 days before the event date. If applicants want to rent with the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District, they must understand and obey the Facility Rental Rules and Regulations. The Historic Adobe Building is a California Historical Landmark and National Register of Historic Places property located at 157 Moffett Boulevard in Mountain View, near the edge of downtown. Built in 1934 as a New Deal Civil Works Administration project, the structure features Spanish Revival architecture — terracotta clay tile roofing, thick adobe brick walls, decorative concrete columns, and wrought iron details that reflect early California building tradition. After a community preservation campaign, the building was restored to its 1935 appearance and reopened in 2001. The venue offers two complementary event spaces managed by the City of Mountain View's Recreation Department. The Great Room accommodates up to 100 guests for indoor dining and features exposed trusses, hand-hewn lumber, and a modern catering kitchen.
