The Arkell Museum at Canajoharie is an art museum and library situated in the Mohawk Valley of upstate New York. Founded by Bartlett Arkell — the first president of the Beech-Nut Packing Company — the original building opened in 1925, with a dedicated gallery wing added in 1927 and a major expansion completed in 2007. The permanent collection emphasizes American paintings from 1860 to 1940, including works by Winslow Homer, Childe Hassam, John Singer Sargent, Albert Bierstadt, Thomas Hart Benton, and Gilbert Stuart. Designed in the Shingle Style by the New York firm Child and DeGoll, the mansion features a wrap-around veranda, grand entrance hall with sweeping staircase, and a glass conservatory — added in the early 1900s by subsequent owner Charles Darling Parks — that now serves as a backdrop for wedding ceremonies. The property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
