The Artisans Building is one of Springfield's most sought-after event spaces, situated on the grounds of the Illinois State Fairgrounds. Constructed in 1898 and the second-oldest building on the fairgrounds, it underwent major renovation in 1988 and has since become one of the most frequently rented facilities on the property. The building spans 6,400 square feet with an open floor plan, finished hardwood floors, and chandeliers overhead. Four entrances — including two 20-foot-wide drive-through doors — make load-in straightforward for large events. The space is fully heated and air-conditioned, with ADA-accessible restrooms and electric outlets on every beam. Credit Island Lodge sits on a 450-acre island in the Mississippi River on the southwest side of Davenport, Iowa — a setting that places guests in the middle of the river with open water views on all sides. The lodge was restored and reopened as a rental venue, and its riverfront character makes it a distinctive backdrop for receptions, reunions, and private celebrations. The lodge accommodates up to 200 guests under fire code, with seating for approximately 115. It offers a serving kitchen with refrigerator, round and rectangular tables, and is fully heated and air conditioned. Camp Shaw-waw-nas-see is a non-profit overnight camp set on 110 acres in Manteno, Illinois, with more than 75 years of history hosting youth programs and outdoor gatherings. The natural grounds — open fields, wooded areas, a creek, and a waterfall — make it an unconventional but memorable backdrop for weddings and private celebrations. The wedding package encompasses the upper campgrounds, the bowl area, the Dining Hall, and the upper camp pavilion, accommodating up to 200 guests. Two dressing rooms are available for the wedding party, and up to five hours of portering service is included for moving equipment and décor across the property. A campfire can be arranged on request. The package includes dedicated time the day before for setup and rehearsal and the day after for takedown, with full access from 8 AM to 10 PM on the wedding day. Food must arrive ready to serve, as no kitchen or in-house catering is available. Alcohol may be served by a licensed bartender.
