Historic Villa Paula
5811 N Miami Ave, Miami, FL 33127, USA- Spaces for 150 Guests
You're invited to experience this enchanting building, constructed in 1926 to be the first Cuban consulate in Miami. With its combination of French neo-classical architectural elements, Moorish arches and Spanish tiles, this picturesque house has a distinctive Havana flair. It is one of a handful of homes in South Florida on the register of historic places. The Villa Paula has miraculously survived the trauma of the devastating hurricane of 1926 and attempts to tear it down. Now Lovingly restored, it is a place for discovering art treasures -- ranging from Renoir and Picasso to Wilfredo Lam and Miami’s homegrown genius, the late Pervis Young. The original bucolic environment of the villa grounds is preserved in the garden with its cascades of bougainvillea and its graceful pergola, perfect for enjoying food, wine, and music. The Villa Paula is at the center of an emerging Miami art scene, as gallerists and artists have moved north to Little Haiti. The home’s current owner aims to bring it to life by creating a new kind of cultural center inspired by the American expatriate poet and patron Gertrude Stein, who hosted legendary salon gatherings in her apartment in Paris during the 1920’s, welcoming Picasso and Hemmingway and all the leading figures of the Modern Jazz Age. The aim of the programming at the Villa Paula is to consider the cavalcade of issues that relate to the history of South Florida and the world of culture from the 1920s to the present. The Villa Paula is a unique space. Along with a series of changing exhibitions visitors can attend day and evening events, featuring talented artists, musicians , and experts who will present engaging topics that will bring together people of all backgrounds who love to look at art and learn about the lives of its creators. Visitors will also get the chance to savor a good glass of wine or cocktail and enjoy some excellent “curated” cuisine presented by Miami’s most innovative chefs, or an intimate concert.

Big Pink
157 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139, USAMyles Chefetz, who was born in Miami on Homestead Air Force Base and graduated from the University of Miami Law School, spent the majority of his early adult life in New York City practicing law before transitioning into the restaurant and nightclub business. Chefetz was inspired to expand his expertise to Miami Beach while on vacation in 1994, when he realized that there was a significant need to improve the restaurant scene on South Beach. There has been a revolution. Restaurants in Miami Beach had previously been characterized by a club-like atmosphere that drew customers on specific nights of the week, but Chefetz's arrival signaled the beginning of restaurants that had both a scene and a distinct cuisine. Chefetz introduced an eclectic menu with Nemo, which became a South Beach institution, and opened the retro-styled Big Pink restaurant in 1996, as part of the Myles Restaurant Group. From there, he moved on to Japanese cuisine with Shoji, and in 2004, he opened the world-famous Prime 112 restaurant. Our Standing in the Community Today Prime 112, Prime Italian, Big Pink, and Prime Hotel are all owned and operated by the Myles Restaurant Group, which also owns and operates Prime 112, Prime Italian, Big Pink, and Prime Hotel, a boutique hotel adjacent to Prime 112 that blends high-end luxury lifestyle with Miami Beach's Art Deco influences. Chefetz has twice been named a semifinalist for the James Beard Outstanding Restaurateur Award and has been dubbed the "Sultan of South of Fifth" as a result of his success. Myles Restaurant Group has earned a reputation for providing unrivaled food, service, and dining experiences, earning it recognition as a premier collection of culinary establishments not only in Miami Beach but throughout the world.
