Set right off the beach in the heart of vibrant Downtown Santa Monica, the Cayton offers 21,000 square feet of play space with 25 discovery-based exhibits, art studios and an award-winning theater as well as gallery pop-up space and community space—all in the heart of shopping and dining at Santa Monica Place. In the event that you rent space at the Cayton, our event professionals will work with you to customize a package that meets your specific requirements. Michael's Santa Monica has been a landmark of California cuisine since 1979, when founder Michael McCarty opened the restaurant on Third Street in Santa Monica. One of the early pioneers of market-driven, ingredient-focused cooking in the American West, the restaurant continues to build its menus around local produce and hyper-seasonal ingredients sourced from regional farms and purveyors. Our studio and design center, which was originally located in downtown Austin, Texas, has now moved to a location just a few blocks from Venice Beach. As landscape and garden designers, we offer a wide range of services to commercial and residential clients. We also create interior and exterior commissions, floral and plant arrangements for special events, and boutique gathering and event spaces in both Venice, California, and Austin, Texas. Owner and principal designer, Selena Souders, along with her team of designers and construction crew, create and implement a variety of extraordinary landscape, hardscape, and gardening solutions for both residential and commercial spaces, starting with the initial design concept. The talents and experiences of our team are pooled together, and our work incorporates elements of philosophy, architecture, field botany, welding, floral design, and stone carving. Heritage Park is a six-acre historic venue in Santa Fe Springs, California, set on the restored grounds of the Hawkins Ranch, which prospered in the 1880s. The city of Santa Fe Springs reconstructed the park's Victorian-era landscape using historic photographs, resulting in a setting that includes beautifully landscaped gardens with lattice arches and cherub statuary, water fountains, a carriage barn built in the Gothic style, and a plant-filled conservatory that serves as a popular backdrop for wedding ceremonies. The park accommodates a variety of events — from wedding ceremonies and receptions to photo sessions, corporate picnics, and private parties. The Plant Conservatory, originally built around 1870, provides an intimate ceremony setting, while the historic Carriage Barn and surrounding park grounds suit larger gatherings. A restored AT&SF steam locomotive and railroad caboose add a distinctive character to the site. The caboose itself is available as a rentable event space for smaller celebrations. The Clarke Estate was built as the home of Chauncey and Marie Rankin Clarke in 1919. A wealthy, socially prominent couple, they hired architect Irving Gill to build their country home on 60 acres of citrus groves in Santa Fe Springs. Gill built this elegant house in an unusual style for the era.

Established in 1915 by Italian immigrant, Cesar Menotti, Townhouse is the oldest bar in Venice and one of the oldest bars in the Los Angeles area. Townhouse's live entertainment basement, The Del Monte, was a true speakeasy during Prohibition (1920-1933) and a night-life nucleus, serving many nefarious and infamous characters of the day, masked cleverly by Menotti's grocery store above. Underneath the rows of produce was a trap door and dumbwaiter that could bring down two guests at a time. Alcohol was brought in by boats from Canada and then smuggled via underground tunnels. Once Prohibition ended in 1933, a staircase was added. Today both floors serve hand-crafted cocktails from the golden age of drinking with classic bartending techniques and know-how and offer a fine library of world-class spirits, beer, and wine. The Del Monte features the crème de la crème of live entertainment including live music, djs, comedy and burlesque, five to seven nights per week.
