Joe was a popular choice for roles as a commentator in movies, commercials, and news broadcasts; he had even been nominated for an Academy Award. His nickname was "The Voice." After many years of keeping a busy schedule and commuting from New York to Miami, he and his wife Doris were looking for a peaceful getaway retreat they could get away to. Because Joe had a passion for horses, he established the Aragon Ranch, where Doris later began cultivating beautiful gardens for the family to enjoy. She planted dozens upon dozens of camellias and azaleas in the garden. In point of fact, she has all of her grandchildren represented by their very own individual camellia bushes. Their son Malcolm took over the garden design and began working alongside Doris to sell tropical plants all over the country after taking over the business from his parents. This resulted in the development of one-of-a-kind landscape design areas, which in turn continued to contribute to the beauty of the gardens.
