Mitchell Park Community Center is a LEED Platinum-certified civic facility located at 3700 Middlefield Road in Palo Alto, California. Opened in December 2014, the 15,000-square-foot community center sits within a 41,000-square-foot campus shared with the Mitchell Park Library, adjacent to the green space of Mitchell Park. Designed by Group 4 Architecture, the building features large expanses of glass, rose-colored stone, and sustainable systems including vegetated roofs and solar photovoltaics — architecture that reflects the community's commitment to environmental stewardship. The center offers six rentable event rooms ranging from intimate meeting spaces to a flexible ballroom-style hall. The flagship El Palo Alto Room spans 3,000 square feet and accommodates up to 250 dining guests or 500 standing, while smaller rooms including the Adobe and Matadero suites seat up to 90 and support classroom, meeting, and workshop formats. Gamble Garden, with its lovely garden and historic mansion, is the perfect setting to take in the sights and sounds of your wedding day or special celebration. In the heart of ancient Palo Alto, we can accommodate an intimate celebration of up to 50 people. For your ceremony, choose from the Rose Garden, Wisteria Garden, or Tea House Patio, as well as reception space in the Carriage House or Tea House Patio. Our event coordinator can assist you in putting together the perfect gathering. RENTAL DETAILS With over 20 years of expertise at Gamble Garden, our wedding/event coordinator will assist you with the planning of your special event. Gamble Garden can host groups of up to 50 people and is available for rental Monday through Friday evenings, as well as Saturday and Sunday. You and your guests will enjoy the first floor of the Main House, which includes the Dining Room, Living Room, and Library with veranda; the Carriage House and Carriage House Patio; and the Tea House and Tea House Patio when you choose Gamble Garden for your special occasion. Within your rental area are the Rose Garden, the Allée, and the Wisteria Garden, all of which are perfect for photography at any time of year. Rentals of Facilities The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District has a variety of venues available to rent for your next celebration or happy occasion. Each venue has its own own design components and aspects; make a reservation today and celebrate tomorrow. Minimonies at Ravenswood At Ravenswood Historic Site, we are introducing outdoor "minimonies" (mini-ceremonies). Exchange your vows in an outdoor environment with up to 50 guests while keeping all aspects of social distancing in mind. Choose from a romantic garden gazebo, a rustic covered tree patch, or the classic shaded tree archway for your ceremony. Included are the bride's room, tables, chairs, restrooms, parking, and a building attendant. Applicants have the option of hosting a small event with a champagne toast and individually prepared food. A minimum of four (4) hours is required; any additional hours will be charged at the hourly rental rate. Facility Event Rental Process at Ravenswood Applications are accepted eighteen (18) months in advance of the requested date, on a first-come, first served basis; preferred dates, times, and facility location vary. Applicants must submit a completed and signed Facility Rental Application, as well as a refundable deposit, to book and reserve the day. All other rental fees must be paid 45 days before the event date. If applicants want to rent with the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District, they must understand and obey the Facility Rental Rules and Regulations.
