Non-religious legal marriage ceremonies performed by a government official or registrar are known as civil wedding services. Wedding ceremonies are not presided over by officiants or registrars in the city of San José. Couples can either bring their own officiant or plan a time with the County of Santa Clara to have a designated officiant offered to them for their wedding ceremony at City Hall. The Rotunda at City Hall in San José can be used for wedding ceremonies and/or parties. Shoreline Center is a mid-century modern waterfront venue at the Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline in Oakland, California. The building's distinctive angular roof and floor-to-ceiling windows face the San Leandro Bay, delivering panoramic views of the water and the East Bay hills from every seat. A 700-square-foot outdoor deck wraps around the structure, extending the event footprint onto the waterfront and offering guests an open-air space amid the 741-acre regional park.
