Joseph D. Grant County Park is the largest of Santa Clara County's regional parks, spanning 10,882 acres in the Diablo Range foothills east of San Jose near Mount Hamilton. Rolling grasslands, valley oak woodlands, lakes, and ponds shape a setting that has welcomed visitors since the county established the park in 1975. The park's grounds include reservable event spaces — among them the historic Cookhouse and surrounding outdoor areas — suited to gatherings of various sizes. More than 51 miles of trails wind through the property, offering a scenic backdrop for celebrations that extend beyond a single venue room. Located at 18405 Mt. Rentals of Facilities The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District has a variety of venues available to rent for your next celebration or happy occasion. Each venue has its own own design components and aspects; make a reservation today and celebrate tomorrow. Minimonies at Ravenswood At Ravenswood Historic Site, we are introducing outdoor "minimonies" (mini-ceremonies). Exchange your vows in an outdoor environment with up to 50 guests while keeping all aspects of social distancing in mind. Choose from a romantic garden gazebo, a rustic covered tree patch, or the classic shaded tree archway for your ceremony. Included are the bride's room, tables, chairs, restrooms, parking, and a building attendant. Applicants have the option of hosting a small event with a champagne toast and individually prepared food. A minimum of four (4) hours is required; any additional hours will be charged at the hourly rental rate. Facility Event Rental Process at Ravenswood Applications are accepted eighteen (18) months in advance of the requested date, on a first-come, first served basis; preferred dates, times, and facility location vary. Applicants must submit a completed and signed Facility Rental Application, as well as a refundable deposit, to book and reserve the day. All other rental fees must be paid 45 days before the event date. If applicants want to rent with the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District, they must understand and obey the Facility Rental Rules and Regulations. A facility, date, or requested times are not guaranteed or secured by submitting an application.

History The 11,500 square foot Haas-Lilienthal House, designed by architect Peter R. Schmidt for William and Bertha Haas and built in 1886, represents both the ambitious spirit of San Francisco's pioneers and its great Victorian-period architecture. It survived the 1906 earthquake and fire and remained in the Haas-Lilienthal family until 1973, when the House was entrusted to a new architectural preservation organization, The Foundation for San Francisco's Architectural Heritage, by the three adult children of the recently deceased Alice Haas-Lilienthal (now SF Heritage). The H-L Home subsequently became their new headquarters after some planning, and it was rapidly turned into offices, a house museum with docent-led public tours, and a sophisticated location for special functions. In addition, SF Heritage created an extremely effective teaching program for third graders to learn more about architecture, preservation, and nineteenth-century living. Today, this exuberant Queen Anne style home survives as a site of national cultural and architectural significance. In addition to being on the National Register of Historic Places and San Francisco Landmark #69, the House was designated a National Treasure in 2012 by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Temescal Beach House is a historic lakeside event venue in Oakland's Temescal Regional Recreation Area, situated along the shores of Lake Temescal near the intersection of Highway 13 and Highway 24. The structure was built by the Works Progress Administration and opened to the public in 1940, originally serving as changing facilities for park visitors and the original headquarters of the East Bay Regional Park District. Today the venue is managed by the East Bay Regional Park District and welcomes weddings, corporate events, holiday parties, fundraisers, and private celebrations. The Beach House offers two connected indoor rooms and a large outdoor flagstone patio. The Fireside Room seats up to 56 guests around a gas fireplace, while the adjoining Lakeview Meeting Room seats 24 and features large windows framing views of the calm lake. Together the rooms accommodate up to 80 guests seated or 130 standing. The wraparound flagstone patio — bordered by a vertical garden with panoramic lake views — serves as a popular ceremony and reception extension. Included amenities span a prep kitchen with refrigerator, freezer, and microwave; heating and air conditioning; Wi-Fi; a 65-inch television with soundbar; a dressing room; tables and 90 white resin chairs; and a dedicated 15-space parking lot. Events with hired catering must use the District's approved caterer list; a bring-your-own food option is available for gatherings ending by 7 p.m.
