Spring Valley Farm is a family-owned equestrian facility spread across more than 600 acres of countryside near Lynchburg, Roanoke, and Bedford, Virginia. The farm has operated for generations as a boarding and training center, and its mission centers on bringing horses to people who wouldn't otherwise have access to them. For weddings, Spring Valley Farm offers an open-field ceremony space set among rolling fields, water views, and wooded trails, with an event barn available as a rustic reception space or weather backup. The Waterfront Country Club is the oldest private club at Smith Mountain Lake, opening in 1981 from a concept first envisioned in 1977. Its championship 18-hole golf course was designed by George Dillon, formerly of the Fazio Design Group, and sits across 750 acres with 8.5 miles of shoreline along the lake and the Blue Ridge Mountains; a 2021 restoration converted the fairways to Zeon Zoysia grass. For weddings, the club hosts intimate ceremonies to grand receptions for up to 200 guests, with lake and course views as a backdrop and both indoor and outdoor ceremony options. A dedicated event coordinator works alongside the club's professional management staff and Executive Chef from initial planning through day-of details, offering seated dining, buffets, or custom menus. Copper Cove Golf Club sits along Smith Mountain Lake in Hardy, Virginia, where the golf course's back nine winds past several of the lake's quiet coves and inlets. Designed in 1989 by Virginia course architect Russell Breeden, the layout mixes downhill tee shots and double doglegs across its 6,511 yards. Beyond the course, the clubhouse hosts weddings, parties, meetings, and other private gatherings, with three rooms sized for different groups: the Brookline Room for small meetings and gatherings of up to 15, the sunroom-style Kiawah Room for luncheons and cocktail gatherings of up to 45, and the full-size Valhalla Room, a ballroom for weddings and larger parties of up to 100 guests.
