Developed between 1902 and 1912 in traditional Beaux-Arts style, the Emigrant Industrial Savings Bank is designated as a New York City Landmark. Today, after a two year renovation and restoration effort by Culturespaces, Hall des Lumières not only preserves its architectural heritage, such as the marble bank tellers’ windows and interior, but also seamlessly integrates state-of-the-art technology for an unparalleled immersive experience. The venue is a multi-sensory experience, powered by video canvases that reflect onto the walls and floors, 130 video projectors, 54 speakers, and 22 subwoofers. Hall des Lumières totals 30,000 square feet over two levels featuring 40-foot-high ceilings and custom 100+-year-old lay lights. The venue has three separate exhibition areas: the ground floor (Historical), the lower level (Modern), & the former bank vault (Intimate). Civic Hall is part of The Fedcap Group, a non-profit organization with the mission to deliver economic well-being to underserved communities. We have 85,000 sq ft of space on the first seven floors of a new, Class A building in Union Square. The 2nd and 3rd floors are dedicated event and conference spaces, with additional meeting spaces and breakout rooms on upper floors.

Opened in October of 2018, Recreation is the latest installment from restauranteur and nightlife operator Jon Neidich of Golden Age Hospitality. Located upstairs at Moxy NYC Downtown Hotel in the Financial District, Recreation is a 5000 sq. ft. communal co-working space by day and a bar by night - serving as the ultimate living room for the neighborhood. The cocktail program—designed by Jim Kearns—showcases one of the most advanced tap cocktail systems in the country. The food menu at Recreation features all-day, evening, and late night dishes from Chef Akhtar Nawab of Alta Calidad. Drawing inspiration from the rec room at your neighbor's house, Recreation also features an old school Arcade Machine with games like Ms. Pacman and a half court-sized basketball court– designed to host events or just play ball.
