Mila [mee:lah], short for Milagros, meaning “miracles” in Spanish, represents a love story—one of love for each other, family, and a deep passion for hospitality. Mila’s owners, Jay and Liz Curcio, crossed paths over a decade ago through a client of The White Apron. Jay founded The White Apron in 2004, starting from his own kitchen. By 2011, the company had grown to cater weddings across the NH seacoast. Liz, an event planner and trained chef, was living in NYC and helping her best friend plan her wedding in NH, which just so happened to be catered by The White Apron. When Liz and Jay met, sparks flew, and they soon teamed up to grow The White Apron into a premier off-premise catering business, serving events across Maine, Northern Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and the Lakes Region. Through ingenuity and the dedication of their talented staff, The White Apron not only weathered the pandemic but has continued to elevate its food and service as its clientele expands. While the off-premise business flourished, Jay and Liz shared the dream of opening a venue where they could create exceptional experiences for their clients year-round, without the constraints of an off-site kitchen. Set on the second-highest peak in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Drumore Estate is a 66-acre private estate built in 1938 for newspaper magnate John F. Steinman and designed by architect Robert R. McGoodwin as a 16,000-square-foot Georgian mansion. The grounds include manicured lawns, formal gardens, woodlands, fountains, and pools, with views stretching across the Susquehanna River Valley — a setting couples often choose for both ceremony and portraits. The estate offers several event spaces to suit different celebrations. The formal garden serves as the setting most couples choose for their ceremony, with the Grand Tent, Carriage House, and Ballroom as climate-controlled or covered alternatives for a reception, dance floor, or backup ceremony space. The Grand Tent accommodates up to 400 guests and is typically available from mid-April through mid-November, while the Carriage House and Ballroom provide year-round, climate-controlled options for smaller weddings and events. A fully-furnished bridal suite and groom's lounge inside the mansion give the wedding party a place to prepare on the day of the event. Drumore Estate provides full-service, in-house catering along with an Event Planner/Facilitator and Event Manager who assist with menu selection, layout, and vendor coordination, and who handle setup and teardown. Couples receive exclusive use of the property on their wedding day.
