Arcadia at Edgewood
454 Arcadian Way, Orange, VA 22960, USA- Spaces for 200 Guests
- 1 Event Space
Arcadia was a region in ancient Greece that came to be associated with a desire for pastoral scenery and a sense of harmony with nature, and it became a symbol of this desire. In the minds of many Renaissance writers, it conjured up visions of a long-gone Edenic paradise, complete with pastoral simplicity. Artistic endeavors such as Thomas Cole's Arcadian or Pastoral State, among other works, attempted to capture the beauty of the landscape (above). A taste of such a place for your wedding or corporate event is our goal at Edgewood: a place where you and your family, friends, or group can relax and enjoy the fresh air while taking in the beauty of the lush Virginia countryside. We hope you will consider Edgewood for your wedding or corporate event. You'll have the impression that you've been transported back in time to a simpler time when the experience of mountains, fields, woods, and streams was a daily pleasure. In the following words, the Spanish poet Lope de Vega described the concept of the Arcadian countryside: Does not the pleasantness of this place provide sufficient compensation for any time spent here, or for any danger that may arise as a result of it? Why can't you see how everything is working together to transform this place into something truly divine? Do you not notice how the grasses outperform the emeralds in terms of color...? Is it not true that these stately trees appear to have maintained their flourishing old age, with the only happiness of their seat being that it is clothed with a continuous spring, because no beauty should ever fade in this place? Is it not true that the air breathes health, which the birds (who are both delightful to the ear and the eye) solemnize on a daily basis with the sweet consent of their voices? Isn't every echo in this place a piece of perfect music?" Lope de Vega was a Spanish aristocrat who lived in the 16th century. It is our hope and desire to create a setting that encourages and inspires you during your time with us, even though we are well aware of the fact that such a perfect landscape and experience cannot be obtained in this life. Thank you for considering us for your event. If there is anything we can do to assist you in achieving your goal, please do not hesitate to contact us. Our gratitude for the opportunity to share this beautiful place with you is unwavering.

Set on 42 acres in Virginia's Piedmont wine country, The Inn at Willow Grove centers on a manor house built in 1778 by surveyor Joseph Clark and later expanded with brick additions and Jeffersonian columns by craftsmen who also worked for Thomas Jefferson. The estate carries a Civil War history, with trenches and gun emplacements once dug near the house and a cannonball still lodged in its eaves. Discovered by owner David Scibal in 2008 and renovated over two years, the property today blends historic preservation with an urban-meets-rustic aesthetic across 25 individually designed rooms and suites. For weddings and private events, the estate offers 6,400 square feet of combined indoor-outdoor space across The Barn, with its reclaimed wood ceilings, Palladian windows, and stone fireplace, and the adjoining open-air Ruins, framed by rebuilt stone foundations and covered by a custom tent with string lighting. The Hall offers a more intimate setting bathed in natural light for smaller seated dinners, while the Chef's Table provides a garden-level private dining room in the Manor House for up to 20 guests. Guests round out a stay with treatments at the Mill House Spa and seasonal dining at the Forbes Travel Guide four-star-rated Vintage Restaurant.

Wolf Trap Farm is a 600-acre working farm in Gordonsville, Virginia, in the foothills of the Southwest Mountains near Charlottesville. Portions of the property trace back to James Madison, who once owned the land and named it Black Meadow; the Cuthrell family purchased the farm in 2003, restored the Manor House, Pond House, and barns, and opened it to guests in 2004. The farm's two barn pavilions host wedding receptions with a rustic, indoor-outdoor feel. The Cox Mill Pavilion, converted from a former equipment and hay barn in 2014, overlooks the horse paddocks, while the Black Meadow Pavilion, added in 2018, sits atop a ridge with views of the Southwest Mountains. Both feature oak plank walls, farm tables, a dance floor, and a caterer's warming kitchen, and each pairs with its own ceremony site. In 2023, the farm added the Love Pond site, a tented reception space on a hill above its lower pond, with a ceremony area at the water's edge. Wedding parties and their guests can stay on-site in the Manor House, several cottages, the Barn Apartment, and glamping tents, accommodating close to 60 guests plus additional glampers. Between events, the farm's ponds, game barn, woodland trails, and pastures of horses and cattle give guests of all ages things to do.
