Murray's Mill Historic District is a preserved milling complex listed on the National Register of Historic Places, set along the banks of Balls Creek in eastern Catawba County, North Carolina — about ten minutes from I-40. The site centers on a 28-foot waterwheel and a mill pond whose waters slip over a historic dam, creating a landscape that has remained largely intact since the mill last operated in the mid-twentieth century. Several period structures span from the 1880s through 1913: the mill itself, the Murray & Minges General Store, the Wheathouse — now used as an exhibit gallery — the John Murray House furnished to the period, and numerous outbuildings. The Historical Association of Catawba County has stewarded the site since restoration began in 1980 and opened the district to the public in 1988. The grounds serve as a backdrop for weddings and private events, where the pond, dam, and working waterwheel provide a setting unchanged by the surrounding countryside.

Owner Vivian Autry purchased the property in June 2019 after her daughter's wedding was held there in 2011, and her family's ties to the nearby Lake Martin area span five generations. The venue's centerpiece is its enclosed pavilion, a climate-controlled space with seating for up to 225 guests, three private restrooms, a prep kitchen for catering, a covered walkway, and crossback chairs. Its combination of historic house, landscaped grounds, and enclosed pavilion makes it suited to weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, corporate events, and family gatherings.

Norris Dam State Park spans over 4,000 acres between the Cumberland and Appalachian ranges, set along the shores of Norris Lake. The park takes its name from Senator George Norris, whose advocacy helped bring about the Tennessee Valley Authority; Norris Dam itself was completed in 1936 as part of the New Deal. Much of the park's historic character comes from the Civilian Conservation Corps, which built several of its structures in the 1930s, including cabins now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. For gatherings, the park's Tea Room is a longtime favorite for weddings, receptions, company dinners, and catered events. Built by the CCC, it has a two-tier floor plan, a full kitchen, cathedral ceilings, a stone fireplace, and a wooden deck overlooking the woods toward the lake, with seating for up to 100 guests. The Appalachian Event Center offers a separate space suited to large business meetings, bridal and baby showers, and family reunions, while the Conference Room in the park office accommodates smaller meetings. Two picnic pavilions in the historic district, both wired with electricity, round out the park's options for casual outdoor gatherings. Beyond its event spaces, Norris Dam State Park is a destination in its own right, with more than 30 miles of hiking trails, boating and fishing on Norris Lake, and cultural sites including the Lenoir Museum, an 18th-century Rice Grist Mill, and the Crosby Threshing Barn.

The original barn was built by Thomas Legg near Reed and Fishinger roads, relocated in 1928, and preserved through community advocacy during Sunny 95 Park's 2007 development. The Ohio Timber Framers Guild completed the hand-raising of the timber frame in 2010. The 3,700-square-foot main hall accommodates up to 150 guests for weddings, family reunions, business retreats, birthday parties, and civic gatherings. Tables, padded banquet chairs, and a full AV package — projection, LCD displays, wireless and lapel microphones, and Wi-Fi — are included with rental. A kitchen equipped with refrigeration, warming, and ice supports catering operations, and the venue maintains a list of permitted caterers. South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit performing arts venue in South Orange, New Jersey, that opened in 2006 after nearly a decade of planning. The center emerged from a redevelopment initiative led by South Orange Village Trustees in partnership with Seton Hall University, with a mission to serve as the cultural heartbeat of the greater South Orange/Maplewood region. The Jennifer & Tony Leitner Performance Hall anchors the building: a 439-seat proscenium theatre built with superior acoustics and sightlines, hosting music, comedy, theater, and spoken-word performances. The intimate scale fosters close artist-audience connection in a way that larger venues rarely achieve. The building's 3-story glass-enclosed atrium and the Herb + Milly Iris Gallery add to its distinctive architectural character. For private events, The Loft at SOPAC offers 2,185 square feet of flexible space accommodating up to 225 guests for receptions or 100 seated. Two walls of windows overlook South Mountain Reservation, and the room is equipped with a sprung hardwood dance floor, ceiling-mounted projector and screen, and a full adjacent kitchen available to licensed caterers.
