Hortus NYC was crafted to give every guest an individualized, unique experience. The restaurant’s first floor is centered around an open kitchen to create an extra ordinary dining atmosphere. We also have seating available at our Chef’s table for guests to gather and socialize intimately over amazing food and drinks. The second floor is where our main dining room is located. Here, you can order dishes with friends over good food, good drinks and conversations. Hortus is not just about great recipes and excellent ambiance. It starts from the ground up - we pride ourselves in providing a menu that delights the palate while celebrating sustainable and seasonal ingredients. We aim to push people to experience Asian flavors in a new-American style. Design: The name Hortus, Latin for garden, reflects the emphasis on freshness, and the theme of the garden runs through the interior. Hortus is a garden of earthly and ethereal delights. The contemporary design is stylish and comfortable. Divided into four distinct areas, the first floor is dedicated to bar dining with an open kitchen and a Chef’s Table for intimate group dining and special tasting menus. The second floor contains a sun-lit lounge where waiting for a table with a view of the adjoining outdoor garden is a pleasure—and a perfect place to enjoy small plates and afternoon tea (beginning in Fall 2018). The garden dining area offers shade in the summer and will be enclosed for Winter. The main dining room, also on the second floor, greets you with hunter green walls, innovative lighting fixtures, silver-blue velvety chairs and cozy round banquets ideally suited to sharing food and conversation. The ceramic dishes in earthy tones of green, blue and gray, add another level of sophistication to the experience. Even the restrooms feel like a garden with verdant green living walls.

A majestic space in every sense of the word, Broad Street Ballroom, part of Léman Manhattan Preparatory School, is one of New York City’s grandest event venues. 41 Broad was built in 1928 as the Lee, Higginson, & Company Bank Building. Cross & Cross architectural firm — known as Old Society New York’s architects of choice — designed it in an austere, late 1920’s Classical Revival style, an aesthetic that defined New York City both here and in other of their designs, including 20 Exchange Place, The Guggenheim Museum, and Columbia University Church of Notre Dame. Stepping into The Ballroom is like entering another era (with the exception of the amazing audio-visual setup). Located at 41 Broad Street in the heart of New York’s historic Financial District, the Broad Street Ballroom has captivated visitors for decades with its timeless elegance. The markers of New York’s Gilded Age complement this modern event space under Cathedral-height ceilings, with its Broadway-level 200-light rigging, full concert audio system, and modern HD projector with 22-foot by 22-foot screen.
