Riverside Farm is a 700-acre wedding and event venue set against Vermont's Green Mountains in Pittsfield. The property's history dates to the mid-1800s, when its barns and outbuildings were first built; a couple discovered the abandoned farm in 2001 and undertook a restoration that preserved its New England architecture while adding modern amenities, eventually holding their own wedding there before opening it to other couples. The farm is now owned by Joe and Courtney De Sena, founders of Spartan. Riverside Farm's grounds include the Red Barn and the Stonewell Barn, both restored post-and-beam structures furnished with country antiques, along with the Stone Cellar for more intimate gatherings and a 40-acre meadow for ceremonies and receptions with panoramic mountain views. The property can host up to 500 guests and combines ceremony and reception into a single seamless event. Overnight guests can stay on-site in accommodations that include the Bridal Suite, the Groom's Cabin, the River Studio, the Caretaker's Cottage, and The Stables. Set in the heart of Grafton Village in southern Vermont, The Grafton Inn has welcomed guests since 1801, making it one of the oldest inns in the country. Brothers Francis and Harlan Phelps expanded the property in the late 1800s, adding the third floor and porches that still define its look today, and the Inn's historic guest list has included Ulysses S. Grant, Daniel Webster, and Ralph Waldo Emerson. After decades of decline, the Windham Foundation purchased and restored the Inn in 1965, preserving its country-inn character while modernizing its individually decorated rooms. The Foundation continues to own and operate the property today as the cornerstone of the village. For weddings and private events, the Inn pairs hand-hewn beams and antique furnishings with spaces like the Phelps Barn, the Windham Foundation Room, and the 1801 Tavern's dining rooms, alongside outdoor settings including a swimming pond, community garden, and courtyards. Full-property buyouts, on-site catering and bar service, and a dedicated wedding manager round out the offering, with guest rooms and a full country breakfast available for wedding parties staying on site.
