Surrounded by the rivers and marshes of Savannah and mere minutes from downtown, you will enter through the wrought-iron gates to a meandering wooded, pebbled drive, round the bend in the path . . . and she is there...an idyllic retreat that exudes history, grandeur, and refined luxury. If at first glimpse she takes your breath away, then you will know she is the one. The Manor Home was built in 1941, and the current owners purchased the estate in 2018. HollyOaks on the Marsh remains privately owned by people, not corporations, and the owners enjoy hosting select clientele who appreciate the beauty and history of the Low Country. Whatever the occasion, our appealing outdoor and indoor venues will make your next event one to remember. We have locations that can accommodate large or small groups in a beautiful, one-of-a-kind setting, no matter what you are planning. If you have selected a date, we are happy to hold the venue for seven days, after which time we request deposit of 50% of the rental fee, with the balance due no less than 14 days prior to the event. Forsyth Park Inn is a Queen Anne Victorian bed and breakfast built circa 1893 in Savannah's historic district, sitting directly across from Forsyth Park at 102 West Hall Street. The property was originally the winter residence of Captain Aaron Flint Churchill, a celebrated Nova Scotia sea captain who relocated to Savannah after founding the Churchill Steamship Line. Maritime flourishes — rope motifs around the main entrance and twisted rope balusters along the grand staircase — remain from that era. The Harrison Family has owned and operated the inn since 2016. The inn's 12 elegantly furnished guest rooms include soaring 14-foot ceilings, 12-foot doors, and original woodwork, with options ranging from parlor-level suites with mahogany fireplaces to upper-floor rooms with private patios overlooking the park. Each stay includes a full gourmet breakfast, evening beverages with appetizers, and in-house baked sweets. For intimate celebrations, Forsyth Park Inn hosts elopements and wedding ceremonies for 2 to 45 guests in its private courtyard garden, with packages that include an officiant, coordinator, florals, a two-tier wedding cake, and couple accommodations. Massie Heritage Center occupies a Greek Revival building completed in 1856 on Taylor Square in downtown Savannah — the oldest continuously operating educational facility in the city and a property listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Designed by architect John Norris, the building served as a public school for 118 years before being converted into a museum and heritage interpretation center operated by the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System. Today, the center functions as Savannah's museum for history and architecture, with six galleries covering local history, urban planning, maritime heritage, and architecture.
