The Ford Avenue Piquette Plant was built in 1904 by the fledgling Ford Motor Company. It was here that Henry Ford would produce several car models- including his most famous automobile- the Model T. Once outside the plant's walls, the Model T started a revolution that would put the world on wheels. OUR ORGANIZATION The Model-T Automotive Heritage Complex, Inc., (doing business as) the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant, was organized in 2000 as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization for the purpose of preserving the Plant and keeping it from being demolished. Open year round as a Museum and education center, the plant now attracts visitors from around the world. It provides special programs and events for bus tours, families, and scores of people attending public and private events from car shows to weddings. The Ford Piquette Avenue Plant (FPAP) is managed by a Board of Trustees and volunteer committees. The historic site is financially self-supported. It is not affiliated with Ford Motor Company or Ford Foundation.

HISTORY In 1915, the architectural firm William S. Jay & Co. designed & opened The Norwood Theatre. It was then demolished in the summer of 1941 to allow for road widening. A new Norwood Theatre was built on the site designed in an Art Deco style, but eventually closed in 1949….

After the successful campaign to legalize medical cannabis in 2008, activist attorney Matthew Abel purchased the building in Detroit's Rivertown District as a home for Cannabis Counsel® Law Firm, the oldest and first cannabis only law firm in the country. A Gathering Place For Change The building was a major meeting place for cannabis legalization petitions in 2012, 2016, and the successful 2018 Legalization initiative The building quickly became a space where activists, political leaders, and medical patients could come together, meet, and advocate for change.
