Gruene Estate sits on 17 acres in the historic town of Gruene, Texas, between San Antonio and Austin, on land the Gruene family first settled in 1846. Ernst and Antoinette Gruene built a home and barn on the property, and their sons went on to found the Thornhill Steam Mills that grew into the town of Gruene itself. Now owned by Dr. Daniel and Anna Lisa Tamez, the estate has been restored to its original 10-acre core and continues its family history of hosting the community. At the heart of the property is the original open-air chapel, an intimate space with a stained-glass window backdrop, bench seating, and a sound system with lapel microphone. Salt Lick Cellars is a wine garden and tasting room in Driftwood, Texas, situated next door to the original Salt Lick Restaurant, about 15 minutes from downtown Austin. The Roberts family began planting the surrounding vineyard in 2006, setting 35 acres with Tempranillo, Mourvédre, Syrah, and Grenache; the first bottled Tempranillo was released in 2008, and the tasting room opened in 2009. Guests gather on a shaded, wrap-around patio and deck beneath ancient Live Oak trees, surrounded by the same vines that produce the wine poured inside. Alongside its own line of reds and whites, Salt Lick Cellars pours other Texas-grown wines and local craft beer. The Wildflower Barn sits on 10 acres in the Texas Hill Country, a property its owners describe as "a nature preserve moonlighting as a wedding venue." Discovered in 2007 as neglected, overgrown acreage by a professional photographer and his wife, the land has since been developed around its native Live Oaks, Elms, and spring wildflowers, with ceremony and reception spaces tucked among the trees. The property holds two self-contained venues: the vintage Bluebonnet Barn, built in 1980 with its aged metal roof and weathered exterior, and the cedar-built Meadow Barn, centered on a hand-crafted Star of Texas dance floor. Each barn accommodates up to 150 guests and includes its own ceremony sites, a shaded reception area, casual seating with a wood-burning fire pit, and a climate-controlled dressing area. Both are strung with thousands of twinkling lights and kept comfortable with ceiling fans and cross-ventilation in summer and propane heat in winter. The Wildflower Barn operates with an open vendor policy, letting couples bring in any caterer, bartender, or DJ of their choosing, or rely on family and friends, and it offers straightforward, low-cost pricing without hidden fees, required security, a mandatory day-of coordinator, or insurance requirements.

Horticultural expert Tom Tinguely lived in his country home for 25 years, manicuring his gardens and nurturing carefully chosen plants and flowers with love. In 2009 he moved downtown to be closer to his garden center, a South Congress landmark called The Great Outdoors. He stayed at the country home on the weekends, often hosting private parties for his friends and family. When Tom’s niece was engaged that same year, she searched for the perfect outdoor venue in Austin, and Tom graciously offered his magnificent gardens to host her wedding. Tom’s partner Danny Hatt, who coordinated events in Charleston, South Carolina moved to Austin in 2009 and he was eager to jump on board to take on the planning aspects of the wedding. His eye for style added the touches that transformed a small garden party into an elegant event and his experience in event coordination made the wedding a successful and memorable occasion. This garden wedding inspired Tom and Danny to open The Hummingbird House together and our first couple, Nadine and Andy, became husband and wife on April 10th, 2009! Since then, The Hummingbird House has hosted hundreds of events including weddings, charity events, anniversary parties, birthday celebrations, vow renewals, elopement galas, holiday gatherings, corporate events, graduation parties, and photo shoots!

Built in 1949 on a 280-acre homestead in Sunset Valley, just 10 minutes from downtown Austin, the Brodie Homestead barn spent nearly 50 years housing cattle, horses, and donkeys before its 2011 purchase by Daniel and Vicki Ross, owners of Austin's Allan House. After an extensive renovation, the family-owned venue opened for events in 2014, and its 38-foot wooden gambrel roof, original cathedral-like ceilings, and large stone walls remain from the historic structure. Six crystal chandeliers, rafter uplighting, and Edison bulb globe lighting illuminate the barn wood and white limestone interior, while custom white draping can divide the more than 4,200 square feet of indoor space into smaller areas. Brodie Homestead hosts weddings, corporate events, holiday celebrations, and non-profit fundraisers, accommodating up to 350 guests standing or 250 seated for a reception, with rentals including exclusive use of the space for 10 hours, two private loft changing suites, a catering prep kitchen, and a stone wall hook system for hanging greenery and florals. Outdoor walkways surround the building, and nearby green space is available for portraits and ceremony photography.
