Talus Rock Retreat is an 18-acre luxury lodging and event property set one mile from downtown Sandpoint, Idaho. Built over two decades by owners Bruce and Heather Mehra-Pedersen, the retreat began as a family home and grew into a full-service bed and breakfast that also opens its grounds to weddings, private gatherings, and curated dining experiences. The property's six guest rooms each carry a distinct character — from the octagonal Arbor Room with its jetted tub to the Selkirk Room's Serengeti-inspired décor with a hand-hammered copper sink. Common areas include an outdoor pool, fire pits, infrared sauna, and walking trails through the gardens, all available to guests and event parties. For weddings and private events, the retreat offers ceremony settings in the Great Room or anywhere across its 18-acre grounds, with packages accommodating intimate elopements of a few guests up to celebrations of 48 or more. The Homestead Barn at Dover Bay is a 1930s-era barn event center located in Dover, Idaho, on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille. The recently restored barn sits in a field of green meadow with panoramic mountain views, and features graceful arched ceilings, three chandeliers, and twinkling string lights that span the interior. The barn accommodates up to 100 seated guests for indoor events, and expands to 200 guests for indoor-outdoor celebrations on the manicured lawn alongside a tent. Inside, the upper level offers an expansive open room for dining and dancing, while the lower level provides additional seating with bench and stool areas. Getting-ready rooms are available on site. Dover Bay Resort surrounds the barn with more than 38 lakeside rental homes that can house up to 150 guests — making it a natural choice for destination weddings and multi-day celebrations.
