Our Personal Narrative Katy, Texas's Bowery House and Gardens are located at the intersection of Franz Road and Katy Fort Bend Road, in the city's historic district. As a legacy for his family, the original owner planted oak trees throughout the property, with seven of them planted in a row facing Franz Road on the west side. Eventually, his grandson inherited the land, and he refused to sell it when the property was zoned for commercial use because he was concerned that the oaks would be destroyed to make way for a development. When we approached the grandson about purchasing the parcel of land, we assured him that it was the oak trees that made the property so appealing to us. He agreed to sell on the condition that the oaks would be left in their original location. When it came to commercially developing the land, we considered a number of different options. The Bowery House and Gardens at 7 Oaks came to fruition as a result of combining our personal event planning expertise with the picturesque setting of the property. The venue and surrounding gardens have far exceeded our expectations in every respect. The beauty and historic tranquility of 7 Oaks have brought us great joy, and we are delighted to share it with our friends, neighbors, and guests. Special Occasions Among the many types of events that the Bowery House and Gardens caters to are Quinceaneras, family reunions, recitals, fundraisers, corporate and community gatherings, among others. Because we have multiple indoor spaces, we can accommodate up to 600 people on all three floors if we use all of them together. Chef Jacques Fox was born in the North African city of "Sidi-Bel-Abbes" and raised in France by his Polish grandparents. Even before graduating from high school, Chef Jacques Fox demonstrated an early aptitude for cooking. Following high school, Chef Jacques enrolled in a two-year program at the College D'Enseignement Techniques in Tulle, France, to further his culinary education. When Chef Jacques graduated from his training program in 1975, he relocated to Paris, where he accepted his first chef position at Maison Prunier, a world-renowned seafood restaurant. In 1976, he joined Elitair Maxims, where he worked for four years before being promoted to executive chef. After leaving Paris in 1983, Chef Jacques went to work for Club Mediterrainnee (Club Med), where he had the opportunity to further develop his culinary skills and understanding of global cuisine at luxury resorts around the world, including those in Kamarina, Sicily; Noumea, New Caledonia; Port-au-Prince, Haiti; Farakulafushi, Maldives; Kos, Greece; Eilat, Israel; Cooper Mountain, United States; and Les Menuires et (Click on the "read more" link above to learn more.) The "Medieval Room I" can accommodate up to 12 people, while the "Medieval Room II" can accommodate up to 10 people. When the "Medieval Rooms" are combined, they can accommodate a total of 24 people. This lovely cottage is situated on a 12-acre plot of land that is entirely shaded by 100-year-old trees. ART NOUVEAU, French for "New Art" (pronounced New-Vo), spread throughout Europe and major American cities from circa 1890 to World War I, when it fell out of fashion. Mama La is the secret ingredient in each of our Kim Son Restaurants, and she can be found in every location. Kim Su Tran La was born in Vietnam, and she, her husband, and their seven children fled to Houston in 1980, fleeing the communist regime that had taken over their country at the time. Mother-in-law Mama La was able to memorize more than 250 recipes before opening the first KIM SON Restaurant, thanks to her extensive knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine, which she received from her in-laws. In a short period of time, her food amassed a large following of thousands of followers, as well as the admiration and loyalty of many of Vietnam's top restaurant cities. The first KIM SON store was located in Vinh Long, but it was eventually closed as a result of the communist takeover of the country in 1975. KIM SON has been recognized by a number of prestigious publications, including Bon Appétit, Esquire, and Food & Wine, and has been named "Best Vietnamese Restaurant" in Houston on an annual basis by the Houston Press. Currently, Mama La's culinary skills have allowed her restaurant group to expand to include four full-service restaurants, three banquet facilities, and four food court outlets throughout the greater Houston region.
