The Altamont Theatre is a live music, wedding, and private event venue situated on Church Street in the heart of downtown Asheville's Historic District. The site preserves a pioneer mountain plantation from the early 1800s, featuring seven historic and reconstructed buildings — including a two-story log cabin homestead and an original 1790s slave dwelling — alongside a visitor center with interactive exhibits that interpret daily life in the Blue Ridge Mountains during that era. For private events, the site offers an outdoor picnic shelter and adjacent 1/6-acre field, set against panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
