Mountain Home Inn is a historic 10-room boutique hotel and event venue perched on the Mt. Tamalpais ridgeline in Mill Valley, California — just 20 minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Built in 1912 by Swiss-German founders who surveyed the mountain to find its most scenic vantage point, the inn sits 900 feet above the village of Mill Valley with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, San Francisco Bay, and the canopy of Muir Woods below. It is the only commercial property permitted on Mt. Tamalpais, a distinction that reflects both its historic status and enduring connection to this iconic landscape. Wedding Site Features: - Located at the pedestrian entry to GGP at Fulton and Park Presidio Avenue, the Rose Garden provides a tranquil retreat from the city. - Roses are typically in full bloom from the middle of May through the beginning of June. Fern Cottage is an intimate event venue operated by the East Bay Regional Park District, nestled amongst ferns and groves of redwood trees within Kennedy Grove Regional Recreation Area in El Sobrante, California. Once a park residence and later a senior center, the 1,000-square-foot cottage sits on a landscaped property featuring two outdoor decks and a private enclosed backyard with a lawn and garden — an easy-to-miss woodland retreat within the East Bay hills. The cottage accommodates up to 60 guests for seated receptions indoors and up to 130 guests overall, making it a natural fit for micro weddings, celebrations, bridal and baby showers, small workshops, and retreats. The interior features two rooms arranged in an L-shape, a cozy gas fireplace, and a full kitchen with refrigerator, freezer, six-burner range with oven, and microwave. A covered back deck (30 by 16 feet) and a front deck (16 by 20 feet) extend the usable space outdoors into the surrounding eucalyptus and redwood setting.
