Kelli Connell's twenty-year study with one model is an introspective examination of sexuality and gender roles in intimate relationships that form self-identity. The project investigates identity polarities such as the masculine and feminine psyche, the irrational and rational self, the outward and interior self, and the motivated and resigned self. Body language and clothes define the dualities of the person by mixing several photographic negatives of the same model in each image. The significance of these photos rests in their portrayal of internal conflicts as an outward object: a photograph. The spectator is presented with "constructed realities" through these pictures. Rentals and Photoshoots Holding your event at the Alice Austen House gardens is an opportunity to participate in New York City history. With magnificent views of lower Manhattan and Brooklyn, the historic venue offers outdoor leases for wedding ceremonies and shooting opportunities. The Alice Austen House offers a unique background for your wedding ceremony or photo/film shoot, with lovely period gardens, a landmarked Victorian Cottage, and a wide waterfront vista of the New York harbor. Walter J. Travis, a golfing icon, is the course designer for Spring Brook Golf Club. In the 1920s, Sam and Anna Asarnow acquired a huge and lovely property in Somerset County, New Jersey, with the intention of using it as a summer vacation home for their family. Yes, you guessed it: this is the parcel of property that would subsequently be transformed into The Forest Lodge. Those who have visited in the past, and who still do so on occasion, are enthusiastic about the place's history. In addition to entertaining, the Asarnows liked inviting guests to come here for a day of leisure and entertainment. When friends had such a good time at the Lodge, they spread the word, and friends who came to visit quickly became friends of friends, and ultimately strangers began turning up to enjoy the grounds. By 1933, the grounds had grown in popularity to the point that the Asarnows felt it was only natural to begin collecting a $.25/person entry fee to the general public. This was the impetus for the establishment of a family-owned business that is still in operation today under the Forest Lodge brand name. It was the Esso Corporation (now Exxon Mobil) that hosted the first company picnic, which took place in the mid-1930s. The Asarnow family sold the property to Robert Evans in 1968, and Evans continued to operate the company until 1980, keeping the picnic grounds available to the public for a fee and diversifying services by converting the venue into a Country Rock Bar at night. Robert Evans died in 1980. The Forest Lodge property was bought by Charlie Alberto in 1980, and he has since worked to preserve the original concept of the Asarnow family by providing a location for guests to unwind and enjoy the fresh rural air. In addition, he revived the venue by modernizing the menus, amenities, and entertainment to meet the demands of the present and future generations of guests. The Alberto family took the choice to lock their doors to the public shortly after acquiring the firm from the previous owners. Guests arriving without a reservation were being turned away from their business functions, which were becoming increasingly popular. Aside from that, the Alberto family shuttered the Country Rock Bar in 1981 to build the Sherwood Chalet, which today serves as a venue for events ranging from weddings and bar mitzvahs to business meetings and seminars. Forest Lodge has grown from a picnic site to a Full Service Event Coordination company, specializing in all types of corporate events, including seminars, meetings, company picnics, team building events, morale boosters, and elegant outdoor events, in addition to the social events held in The Sherwood Chalet. Forest Lodge is owned and operated by the Alberto family. Aside from that, Forest Lodge acts as a first employment for many young individuals in the local region, with up to 150 part-time staff members working there. The dedication to quality at Clinton Hall begins with the SupercraftTM beer program. Following closely behind is a lot of fun and NYC's best burger! Clinton Hall's rustic and modest 4,000 square foot beer hall is situated back somewhat from the street at the corners of Rector and Washington in the bustling downtown Financial District, just a few short streets from the site of the freshly restored World Trade Center. The interior and outdoor rooms are connected by a series of glass doors that lead into the courtyard. Guests may sit at the 20-seat Carrara marble bar, which is flanked by reclaimed brick and wood walls recovered from Upstate New York and Pennsylvania farms, or drink with friends at communal tables and benches, which are all softly lighted by handcrafted light fixtures and naked Edison bulbs. Clinton Hall features a rotating range of 20 draught beers and ciders from the United States, Belgium, Germany, Scandinavia, and beyond, ranging from cask ales to keg-conditioned ales and lagers. All suds are delivered at a properly calibrated 34 degrees, every time, thanks to an on-site flux capacitor that calibrates nitrogen and carbon dioxide and regulates compression of each particular beer to the Brew Masters requirements. Cocktail parties for up to 350 people or a formal dinner for 175 people can be held in the whole Dining Room. Arrangements can be made to reserve the full Tribeca Grill Duplex for groups of up to 500 people. This allows you to have dancing, food, and beverages all at the same time during your event. Loft The Loft is a bright, open room on the second story with beautiful hardwood flooring, 15-foot ceilings, and exposed brick walls. It also has its own entrance and private facilities. It is a dynamic space that can be dressed up for elegance or down for a fun, laid-back vibe. Although the room can hold up to 120 people for a formal dinner, the design is also suitable for smaller gatherings of 30 people or receptions of 175. The Loft can be used for gallery exhibitions, fashion events, corporate presentations, and even in conjunction with the adjacent screening room. Garden Vista Ballroom is a historic banquet facility in Passaic, New Jersey, originally built in 1922 as the home of the Passaic Elks Lodge. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005, the building was fully restored and reopened as an event venue in 2009, preserving its original architectural details — including a marble lobby, crystal chandeliers, gold leaf trim, soaring vaulted ceilings, and two grand staircases with original decorative gold railings. The main hall accommodates up to 170 guests and features a configurable dance floor and a baby grand piano. Garden Vista Ballroom hosts weddings, quinceañeras, sweet 16s, birthdays, bar and bat mitzvahs, corporate events, nonprofit galas, and private celebrations of all kinds.
