In order to make each of these Wedding weekend events truly extraordinary, we believe that four key elements must be present: food, staff, on-site planning and coordination, and romance. When it comes to a wedding reception at the Lord Thompson Manor, the flow is designed to create a party atmosphere rather than a traditional "sit-down" reception style. Starting with a Champagne toast, which is typically held on our Side Garden Balcony following your ceremony, your reception will get underway! Following the toast, cocktails and passed hors d'oeuvres are served throughout the Manor, encouraging your guests to mingle and explore the grounds of the estate. Your guests will be seated in the Dining Rooms for a dinner that will include our Chef's Duo Entree Plate. After only about an hour, we begin the first dance, Cake Cutting, or any other formalities you wish to include, in order to get your guests up and out of their dining tables and into the Conservatory for the reception. For the remainder of the Reception, the Music takes it away from you. Cake, coffee, and dessert are served at Stations, eliminating the need for your guests to return to their formal tables after the meal is finished. Your guests will be active participants throughout the evening rather than passive observers at their tables, which is exactly how we like our parties.

Built in 1905 for wealthy businessman Samuel Priest, Edgewood Manor Inn is an 18-room Greek Revival mansion in Providence, Rhode Island, acquired in 1994 and restored to its original grandeur. Five ornate fireplaces and leaded, stained-glass windows remain throughout the property, and guestrooms and suites are decorated in Victorian and Empire style, several with gas or wood-burning fireplaces and jacuzzi tubs. The mansion serves as a backdrop for Rhode Island weddings and receptions, as well as anniversary parties, engagement parties, baby showers, and christenings. Couples can reserve the entire first floor for the ceremony, reception, or bridal party preparations, with capacity for up to 75 guests in winter and 150 in summer across the mansion's indoor rooms and outdoor grounds. Two dining rooms and a patio provide additional space for dining, and wedding parties receive a complimentary basket of cheese and crackers with an ice bucket and glasses. Squantum Association is a private dining club and public event space set on ten acres of historic grounds along Narragansett Bay in Riverside, Rhode Island. Chartered in 1872, the club has hosted presidents and dignitaries over the decades and was featured on the BBC Network's Great American Railroad Journeys. The property's two signature buildings anchor its event spaces. The Clubhouse, built in 1899 and 1900, sits high on the rocks of Squantum Point with the feel of a Newport-style mansion; it houses the Culture Room bar, a working fireplace, a glass-enclosed sunroom, and a second-floor deck overlooking the bay. The Bakehouse, established in 1889, is the association's main event space, accommodating up to 150 guests for a seated dinner and up to 225 for a cocktail reception, with WiFi, surround sound, and a projector and screen built in. Squantum hosts weddings, corporate gatherings, and social events, along with traditional New England clambakes steamed over hot coals and seaweed.
