Chef James Kent's first solo project – two restaurant concepts in the landmark building 70 Pine Street –spans five stories including the Art Deco building’s 66th floor, a former observation deck. The two private salons on the 62nd floor can be reserved privately or combined. SAGA (2 Michelin Star restaurant) features two floors dedicated to private dining, each with windows that frame views of the city skyline and Brooklyn Bridge. The rooms range in size, accommodating business dinners and board meetings, wedding receptions, film productions, and media events. In addition to the dedicated private dining rooms, both SAGA and Overstory– SAGA's cocktail bar with a wraparound terrace–are available for partial evening and full buyouts. The terraces has full bar service in the summer for elegant parties in the daylight and heated seating across the terraces for chilly summer evenings. The most coveted PDR of the NYC is the jewel box almost entirely made of glass overhanging on the 64th floor - off the SAGA kitchen where Kent and his team are seen presenting the dishes. Hortus NYC was crafted to give every guest an individualized, unique experience. The restaurant’s first floor is centered around an open kitchen to create an extra ordinary dining atmosphere. We also have seating available at our Chef’s table for guests to gather and socialize intimately over amazing food and drinks. The second floor is where our main dining room is located. Here, you can order dishes with friends over good food, good drinks and conversations. Hortus is not just about great recipes and excellent ambiance. It starts from the ground up - we pride ourselves in providing a menu that delights the palate while celebrating sustainable and seasonal ingredients. We aim to push people to experience Asian flavors in a new-American style. Design: The name Hortus, Latin for garden, reflects the emphasis on freshness, and the theme of the garden runs through the interior. Hortus is a garden of earthly and ethereal delights. Divided into four distinct areas, the first floor is dedicated to bar dining with an open kitchen and a Chef’s Table for intimate group dining and special tasting menus. Completed in 2019, the recent renovations at Webster Hall aimed to preserve the iconic features of the venue, while modernizing it to meet today’s entertainment standards and enhance the guest experience. The Ritz Lounge (formerly The Marlin Room) has been revamped to serve as a bar and meeting spot. Design details of The Lounge include elegant gold stenciling on the walls that pays homage to the original historic design, and fluted glass along the bar that mimics the venue’s former windows. In the Grand Ballroom, the original stage remains, while acoustics were enhanced to create an optimal special event experience. New features include air conditioning, expanded restrooms, additional stairwells for smoother entry and exit, and the venue’s first-ever elevator.
