Inn at Mystic is a historic waterfront resort set on fourteen acres overlooking Mystic Harbor and Fishers Island Sound in Mystic, Connecticut. Once a private estate, the property has been welcoming guests for over fifty years and bills itself as Connecticut's most historic hotel. At the heart of the resort stands the Haley Mansion, a Colonial Revival home built in 1904 by Katherine Haley and positioned above the Mystic River with views extending to Long Island Sound. The property traces its origins to 1807, when sea captain Shubel Smith built the Georgian Colonial that still anchors the estate. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and recognized by Select Registry Distinguished Inns of North America, the inn blends period architecture — wide-plank floors, stone walls, a working fireplace — with fully renovated accommodations across ten guest rooms. The estate offers multiple event settings for weddings, elopements, and private gatherings. Founded in 2008 by the Sawyers and Helms families and open to the public since October 2012, the property centers on a New England gambrel-style barn with a wraparound deck overlooking the vineyard rows and surrounding landscape. The bright, airy indoor event space handles dining, while the expansive 54-by-66-foot deck overlooking the beach is where ceremonies, cocktail hours, and dancing take place. Couples typically exchange vows at the edge of the deck with the ocean as a backdrop, then head down to the beach afterward for photos.
