St. James Cheese Company - Warehouse District
641 Tchoupitoulas St, New Orleans, LA 70130, USASt. James Cheese Company is the perfect setting for private wine and cheese tastings, happy hours, rehearsal dinners, baby and bridal showers, weddings, and more. Cheese, cheese, charcuterie, and more cheese, please. Sandwiches, salads, and even more cheese are all on the menu. Mission The purpose of our business is to present our clients with a precisely picked and unexpectedly broad range of wonderfully mature cheeses, charcuterie, and gourmet food products. Our menu has been carefully crafted to include sandwiches, salads, and cheese-centric dishes that are both contemporary and European in style, in order to appeal to a wide range of food enthusiasts. What it Is and How it Works We know people who know people who know people who know people who know people. The best method to obtain the farmhouse cheeses we are wild about is to identify the people who love creating them as much as we do about selling them. We found this out a long time ago and have been using it ever since. We've established an international network of cheese makers and affineurs who supply us with the artisan and farmhouse cheeses that are not available in other shops in the United States. What to Expect When You Arrive We operate on the premise that cheese should be enjoyable, and we strive to make each and every visit to our shop unique and memorable. There are areas for the cheese novice, the rind smelling expert, and the curd curious to explore. These are the folks who work for us. St James cheesemongers and guests are urged to sample every cheese available on a daily basis in order to guarantee that each cheese is served at its best.

Capital Nola
New Orleans, LA, USAThe Canal Bank & Trust Building, which can be found at 210 Baronne Street, was designed by the well-known New Orleans architect Emile Weil. Built in 1927, Weil adorned the exterior of the building with limestone statues and lined the corridors with mahogany trim, Tennessee marble, travertine floors, and brass embroidery. In addition, he used travertine floors. Before it was converted into apartments, this structure was home to a variety of professional offices as well as one of the largest banks in the South for almost 90 years. The interior of the bank lobby was designed to convey an air of majesty and scale that is unequaled by any other location in the city. The original bank lobby is now known as the Capital on Baronne and has been renovated recently. The irreplaceable plasterwork and the hand-carved marble columns are just two examples of the many details that have been preserved. The New Orleans Board Of Trade was founded in 1880, and trading continued on the floor until mid-1960. Centered on the eastern wall of the building are three clocks, which have been in place since the building was erected, giving the times in New Orleans, New York & Rio de Janeiro, which were the major players in the Green Coffee Trading. The eight-sectioned mural done was hand-painted by local artist Alvin Sharpe in 1932. It took him approximately three months to complete. First, the canvas was glued to the dome, and then he painted them while on a scaffold in the prone position -- the local version of Michelangelo. (The cost for this project was only $5,500.00 -- just imagine what it would cost today!) In 1993, the Board of Trade was once again renovated, the floors leveled and carpeted with a movable dance floor. It is now available for special event rental, so the public has the opportunity to experience the grandeur of days gone by. The space can currently accomodate up to 500 guests reception style and 250 seated.
