The property takes its name from George William Curtis — editor of Harper's Weekly and a prominent 19th-century lecturer and essayist — who summered there with his wife and established the Ashfield Dinners, an annual community gathering that became a New England institution. Today, Gloriosa & Co. operates the Curtis House as an exclusive-use event venue. The restored late 19th-century barn is the heart of the property, accommodating up to 140 guests beneath exposed beams and locally milled hardwood floors, with a stone patio that opens directly onto the cut flower gardens. Stonover Farm is a boutique luxury inn and event venue set on 10 acres in Lenox, Massachusetts, 0.7 miles from the main gate of Tanglewood. The property centers on a farmhouse built in 1890 — preserved to this day as a Lenox landmark — with additional guest quarters in the Rock Cottage and School House, offering five suites in all, each with a sitting room and full cooked-to-order breakfast served in the Creamery overlooking the pond. The farm hosts a select number of weddings each year, primarily in late May, June, September, and early October. The Colonel Williams Inn and Barn has stood on Route 9 in Marlboro, Vermont for over 250 years, making it the oldest structure in town. Captain William Williams, a Revolutionary War officer and member of Ethan Allen's Green Mountain Boys, purchased the property in 1769 and built the barn that still stands today; the family's original 1772-73 home now serves as the inn's main entrance and lobby. The nine-acre property sits atop a hill with meadows, forest, and a spring-fed pond. The 18th-century barn hosts weddings and private events for up to 150 guests, with 130 comfortably seated. Packages include 48 hours of property access before the ceremony, professional event coordination, tables, linens, china and flatware, décor inventory, custom up-lighting and pathway lighting, and an indoor dining room as a weather contingency. Couples booking the barn also receive two nights in the wedding suite. Originally bequeathed to the Town of Salem in 1989 by Jessie Georgi, the property combines a riverside community park with a museum housing Italian panel paintings and a mineral collection. The grounds are available for weddings, memorial gatherings, family celebrations, and performances from May through November. The property once played a small part in the American Revolutionary War and now overlooks the Bennington Battle Monument, with sweeping views of the Green Mountains framing the grounds. Weddings and private events take place under a large 60-by-90-foot tent with a cathedral ceiling, full windowed sidewalls, and a lighting package of pole-mounted canister lights and perimeter floor lighting, connected by stone walkways to a post-and-beam country amenities barn. The barn offers a receiving area, restrooms, and a wraparound porch furnished with rocking chairs overlooking the mountains and monument, while a patio just off the tent extends the celebration outdoors for cocktails and photos.
