Operated by the Colburn Family for over 75 years, the resort features 19 private lake homes ranging from two to five bedrooms — each with direct lake access and private docks — making it a destination venue where wedding parties and guests can gather for a full weekend rather than a single evening. Weddings unfold across several settings on the property. Ceremonies take place on the resort's private beach, with receptions held under a heated 40' x 80' tent featuring a granite floor and lakefront views for up to 150 guests. A dedicated rehearsal dinner tent and a post-wedding farewell breakfast round out the weekend, alongside on-site coordination and a preferred vendor list for catering, photography, and entertainment. Bull Run Restaurant has operated as a tavern and gathering place in Shirley, Massachusetts since 1740, making it one of the region's most historically rooted event settings. Family-owned since 2009, the farm-to-table restaurant and concert hall maintains the original character of its colonial-era building through features like century-old barrel tables and the historic "Drunkard's Progress" mural in the rustic tap room. Seven private event rooms accommodate groups ranging from 2 to 300 guests, from the intimate Chimney Room to the full Sawtelle Banquet Hall, which can be configured to host gatherings of 75 to 300. The Garden Room and its adjoining patio offer the flexibility of indoor-outdoor dining, accommodating up to 80 guests combined. A covered bridge on the property serves as a distinctive setting for outdoor ceremonies. The name traces to the property's origins as a Banks family summer retreat — built in 1902, it sat far enough from Boston for a two-day horse journey yet near enough for a seasonal return. The grounds offer an entirely outdoor setting: wooded trails, fields of wildflowers, an arboretum with more than 80 conifer species, remnants of a historic cranberry bog, and a 10-acre hemlock grove called Paradise. Events are anchored by an open-air pavilion with a fire pit. The Bull Run Restaurant serves as exclusive catering manager for all private events at Farandnear, bringing farm-to-table menus and full-service event coordination to the property.

Murphy's Taproom, an Irish Restaurant and Taproom, opened its doors in Manchester, New Hampshire, in April 2007. The Taproom, which has a casual, pub-like atmosphere, has 120 taps of draft beer, making it the largest selection in the state. Keith Murphy and his family have expanded the restaurant since opening, adding a separate room for functions and live music, a two-story deck with seating for over 350 people, and a popular diner next door that serves breakfast and lunch until 3 p.m. seven days a week. Residents of Bedford and proprietors Keith Murphy were on the lookout for the ideal location in which to open a second location in the city. Murphy's Restaurant in Bedford, New Hampshire, has been in business since July of this year. Our regular happenings throughout the month are a great addition to our special events and are suitable for guests of all ages.
