"Windy Pines," now known as The Redfield Estate, was built by Bertha Redfield and her second husband, Paul Petersen in 1929. The architect’s arrangement of the west wing, with its fireplace and balcony at an unusual angle to the remainder of the house, was influenced by the Prairie style of architecture. Overall, the effect is reminiscent of a country house in northern Europe. It is particularly lovely due to its variation of line, leaded glass windows, stone, stucco, and slate materials. It had a formal rose garden on one side of the home and a "natural" environment intended to attract wildlife on the other, in addition to its numerous distinctive design features. Even now, deer and other wild creatures can be seen through the windows.

  The Schram Memorial Chapel, named after famed Navy Captain Richard A. Schram and originally built at the Glenview Naval Air Station during World War II, served as a place of worship for thousands of servicemen and women passing through this military installation. The Village of Glenview and Kimball Hill Builders moved this historic non-denominational chapel from its original position after the Naval Air Station closed. The Schram Memorial Chapel is now held by the Glenview Park District and can be rented by groups, individuals, and organizations. Its rich history and impressive religious construction make it a very unique location for important milestones and memorable occasions. Both the rehearsal and the ceremony will be staffed by a caretaker. The caretaker is in charge of making sure the building is available to the renter during the agreed-upon rental hours, as well as setting the temperature and audio equipment. They are unable to direct your event, but are delighted to answer questions and make recommendations. The rehearsal can take place on any day (a week before, the night before, etc.) as long as the required day and time are available. The rehearsal will last one and a half hours. In addition to the ceremony rental, this time must be paid for. Typically, five flower stands, two altar shelves, 20 pews, and two podiums are all decorated. Except for tape on an aisle runner, we do not allow the use of nails, glue, or tape. Ribbon, tulle, or rubber bands can be used to connect pew decorations. Decorations are usually put up approximately 20-30 minutes prior to the wedding. Renters and their service providers have access to the building during the agreed rental term.

In medieval Ireland, a snug was a private area with its own entrance from the street and its own access to the bar, reserved only for ladies. We decided to open the Snug at the same time as the temperance movement began in Evanston to accommodate folks searching for a small private party area to enjoy our freshly-made drinks and our local fair. It has enough space for a cocktail party of up to 15 people or a seated meal for 10-14 people, as well as plenty of furniture and a huge window. Our dining room can handle a corporate lunch as well as a traditional family-style supper.. Whatever your requirements, we will do all we can to meet them. If you would want to listen to your own music, we offer audiovisual possibilities with our Sharp HD television and iPod ports. SPACE honored ten years of live music in 2018 with the inaugural "Out of Space" series, a complete summer of outdoor performances hosted by 93XRT in some of Evanston's most treasured spots. The concerts took place this summer at Canal Shores, an 18-hole golf course that opened in 1919 in Evanston; Temperance Beer Co., SPACE's neighbor one mile west on Dempster since 2013; and the Big Evanston Block Party, located just north of the venue and one block east of the Dempster Purple Line stop. SPACE closed its doors in the spring of 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, and shifted its focus to creative, safe, and socially detached concert experiences. The Space Record Club matched new vinyl with local craft beer for fans' in-home listening enjoyment, while the To-Go Show series brought micro-concerts straight to Evanstonians' yards. From July to October, the Space Summer Stage hosted more than 80 performances by local and national touring artists under a large big top tent. SPACE hopes to continue exploring safe and exciting ways to serve Evanston through a range of performances, outdoor experiences, and community activities as we look to the future.

  The Lytle House is a small, family-owned gathering room that may accommodate up to 80 people for a seated or cocktail event. We have a preferred vendor list that we highly suggest, as well as an approved caterer list from which you can choose. Our objective is to provide a one-of-a-kind setting for your celebration while also making the planning process as simple as possible. The Lytle House is available for weddings, private ceremonies, bridal showers, engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, baby showers, professional events, photoshoots, workshops, and more. It has over 2800 square feet of free flowing indoor-outdoor space and features high ceilings, exposed brick, factory windows, and original industrial features. With the bulk of our ceremonies being collected, we offer restricted seating for ceremonies (reserved row for immediate relatives, etc.). Most wedding ceremonies last between 15-20 minutes, allowing for an intimate and relaxed semi circle to form around you while you exchange vows. The majority of ceremonies are held in the courtyard, in front of one of the ivy walls, in front of our enormous cityscape mural, or on our patio with the courtyard as a backdrop. In the event of bad weather, ceremonies are held inside, in front of our enormous glass garage door, with the courtyard as a backdrop. If your event has more than 30 attendees, you must select a caterer from our approved list. When we initially started hosting parties at our studio, we felt it would be a good idea to let customers choose whichever caterer they liked. It just took a few incidents for me to understand I'd made a mistake. All of the businesses on our approved list provide a pleasant experience. They've done a lot of work in our space. They are knowledgeable about our requirements and processes, but most importantly, they are fantastic. They wouldn't be on the list if they weren't fantastic. They'll answer your emails and do everything they can to make the planning process as simple as possible for you. They'll cook a delicious meal for you, and sure, you can bring your own wine.
