Once a rope factory producing twine and oakum for the shipyards along the East River, it was also the birthplace of the famous wartime ship, the USS Monitor. Civic Hall is part of The Fedcap Group, a non-profit organization with the mission to deliver economic well-being to underserved communities. We have 85,000 sq ft of space on the first seven floors of a new, Class A building in Union Square. Completed in 2019, the recent renovations at Webster Hall aimed to preserve the iconic features of the venue, while modernizing it to meet today’s entertainment standards and enhance the guest experience. The Ritz Lounge (formerly The Marlin Room) has been revamped to serve as a bar and meeting spot. Design details of The Lounge include elegant gold stenciling on the walls that pays homage to the original historic design, and fluted glass along the bar that mimics the venue’s former windows.
