Sundown Farms Plantation is a wedding and event destination set on 13 professionally landscaped acres in Moultrie, Georgia, in the heart of south Georgia's plantation belt. Established in 2009 when the Alderman family opened the estate to the public, the property sits 50 miles north of Tallahassee and combines a working quail hunting plantation with an event venue capable of hosting weddings, reunions, and private gatherings. The grounds center on a 7,000-square-foot lodge constructed in 2008, surrounded by a courtyard, a wedding chapel, and a pond that serves as a backdrop for ceremonies. The dining hall accommodates over 100 guests for seated meals, while the courtyard offers an open-air setting for receptions and rehearsal dinners. The historic Murphy House — built in 1914 and moved to the property and restored in 2008 — provides overnight accommodations for wedding parties. Wedding packages include exclusive use of the lodge, chapel, and grounds for the event day and the Friday prior, with tables and chairs provided. Couples are welcome to bring their own licensed and insured vendors, with a recommended vendor list available on request.

The maximum capacity is 200 people, however for the most comfortable fit, we recommend no more than 180. Pavilion - Outdoor Ceremonies If the weather permits, this is without a doubt one of the most gorgeous spots for an outdoor wedding. Photographers will undoubtedly spend a significant amount of time in this area. Outdoor weddings can be really special, but you don't have to be concerned about the weather. Simply move the ceremony to our indoor Chapel if necessary. Wedding Chapel - Indoor Ceremonies It may be tough to decide whether to hold your ceremony in the Chapel or the Pavilion. The vistas from each will not disappoint you in any case. The Chapel is equipped with a wireless microphone and surround speakers, although the acoustics are so amazing that you might not need them. Bridal Cottage It's all about the bride and her entourage. A lovely spot to get ready for your big day and unwind. After everything is done, you might wish to have a bridal breakfast, lunch, or even stay the night. We also work with Events by Dezine who offers full service packages to our venue. This option is for couples who wish to use our venue, but have someone else provide all the planning and vendor services.
