The Columns isn't your typical hotel experience. Originally constructed as a private dwelling in 1883, the building was transformed into a boarding house during World War I. The building was converted into a hotel in 1953 by a local family, and the bar on the porch quickly became a destination. It was purchased by Jayson Seidman and his family in 2019 after being listed on the National Register of Historic Places by the National Park Service. It's time to move on to the next chapter in this cherished setting.. The Columns have been a part of New Orleans for such a long period of time that they have become a monument in its own right. When everyone knows the name of the place, you don't have to say the address. The Columns, which overlook St. Charles Avenue, with its magnificent magnolia trees and streetcar line, is a short walk from the other historic houses in the region and is a great place to relax. We've meticulously repaired the ancient structure and built a whole new garden, rooftop sundeck, and cocktail bar to complement it. With a careful and sophisticated repair, we were able to breathe new life into our public areas as well. Grand rooms, which are ideal for both private meetings and bigger events, are centered on the spirit and history of the building they are designed to complement. In order to provide hospitality and solitude, these new areas, both inside and outside, have been meticulously planned and designed.

Built beginning in 1829 by French emigre Pierre Soule — a Louisiana U.S. Senator and criminal lawyer who died in the mansion's third-floor bedroom in 1870 — the property has served as an elegant manor, an orphan asylum, a jazz parlor, and a family-owned restaurant over nearly two centuries. The Paris Room, on the mansion's second floor, is available for private events of all kinds. Its ballroom features 18-foot ceilings, a private street balcony, a garden terrace, a spiral staircase, a full private bar, and a commercial kitchen.   The Grand Opera House of the South is a historic performing arts venue and event space in downtown Crowley, Louisiana. Constructed in 1901 by David E. Lyons for $18,000 using virgin Louisiana cypress, pine, and oak, the 33,000-square-foot building is a National Historical Landmark recognized for its pressed tin tiles, hand-painted angel medallions, and original architectural detail. For nearly four decades, the venue hosted prominent performers including Enrico Caruso, Clark Gable, and Huey Long before transitioning to film and eventually closing. In 2004, the Gielen family donated the building to a nonprofit organization, and a $4.5 million restoration reopened it in 2008 as a fully functioning performing arts venue. Today the Grand Opera House of the South offers three distinct rental spaces for private events. Le Grand Hall on the first floor accommodates up to 500 guests in one continuous open area, with a full bar, a spacious bride's room, and a state-of-the-art kitchen. The Grand Ballroom on the third floor is a more intimate setting for approximately 75 guests, with views overlooking renovated Main Street in downtown Crowley — well suited to rehearsal dinners, showers, cocktail parties, and receptions.
