Ravenwood Castle is a medieval-themed destination resort nestled in the wooded Hocking Hills region of Ohio. Modeled after fortifications built along the England-Wales border during the 12th and 13th centuries, the castle was constructed in 1994 and 1995 by founders Sue and Jim Maxwell, who drew on their travels through the British Isles to shape the property's character. Jim and Pam Reed acquired it in June 2012, preserving the original vision while bringing their own touches to the guest experience. The property encompasses 21 guest rooms across the castle, a medieval village, and Huntsman's Hollow, and can be reserved exclusively for private celebrations. Weddings are hosted in the Drawing Room for intimate gatherings of up to 20 guests, in the Great Hall, or at outdoor locations on the grounds, with packages accommodating groups of up to 50. The castle also hosts corporate retreats, murder mystery experiences, and gaming conventions throughout the year.

Originally built as a summer estate for Cleveland financier Edward William Moore, the neo-classical mansion was designed by architect Arthur N. Oviatt and later expanded in 1906 by Milton Dyer. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the mansion underwent a $3 million renovation before reopening in 1998 as a venue for meetings, conferences, banquets, and special events. The mansion's first-floor rooms retain many original details, from the wood-paneled Foyer and its original grandfather clock to the President's Living Room, which still holds an original Steinway grand piano and brick fireplace. The Oviatt Room can be arranged as a banquet space, dance floor, classroom, or auditorium, while the Restoration Room features a bar salvaged from Moore's private railroad car. The South Verandah, a covered outdoor porch, accommodates seating, a dance floor, and cocktail-hour high-top tables overlooking the grounds. Upstairs, several rooms furnished with original Moore family pieces serve meetings and conferences. The estate's grounds include three distinct gardens - a Rose Garden with roughly 1,000 roses, a Green Garden built on a former tennis court, and a Formal Garden blending Victorian geometry with English cottage style - maintained by the Mooreland Restoration Garden Club and used as a backdrop for events and photography.
