  In 1836, Judge John Harris erected the residence as his townhouse. He possessed a huge property in Covington that was robbed by federal troops in 1864 when Sherman's march to the sea got underway. Sherman and Harris kept journals detailing their thirty-day stay at the Harris Plantation, which may be found at the Atlanta History Center. Following the Civil War with the property changing hands, Robert Franklin Wright purchased the property for $1,000. The Cedars is the name Robert and Salina gave to their home. Our farm is only 12 miles from I-85 and the Tanger Outlet Center in Commerce, as well as 16 miles from downtown Athens. Our 8,000 square foot climate-controlled main building features a spacious bridal suite with make-up counters and private restroom, a groom's suite, a prep kitchen for caterers to warm and plate food, an open concept banquet hall that can accommodate up to 225 guests for a sit-down dinner with plenty of room for your dance floor and DJ, a grand indoor and outdoor stone fireplace, and a cover charge. The Foxglove hosts private parties, gatherings, weddings, and receptions and was born out of a desire to see a magnificent old building repaired and revitalized while adding something new and interesting to the square. We've done everything we can to maintain faithful to the building's character and history, including keeping the original brickwork, steel-framed factory windows, and industrial overhead beams. The Foxglove and 131 LeFleur, located at 54 Atlanta Street, are conveniently placed walking distance from the historic Marietta Square. Champagne toasts in the garden courtyard, canapés under the sweeping draperies, and dancing under the original steel beams overhead. The Foxglove oozes the historical ambiance inherent to its Marietta Square setting, having been thoughtfully built with respect for the building's unique charm.
