  WhiteBox is a non-profit contemporary art space in Manhattan, founded in 1998 as an alternative gallery in the then-nascent Chelsea neighborhood.   Pellegrino Artusi (1820-1911) and his self-published cookbook La Scienza in Cucina e L'Arte di Mangiare Bene are honored at L'Artusi, which opened in December 2008. (The Science of Cookery and the Art of Eating Well). L'Artusi combines comfort and innovation in a modern take on traditional Italian cuisine. Our wine list is primarily Italian, and is organized by area with a map showing DOCs and DOCGs, as well as traditional local meals, to assist demystify Italy, the world's most diversified viticultural nation. Our 110-seat restaurant has two levels of comfy banquette seating, an extended classic bar, a cheese bar, and a chef's counter with an open view of the kitchen.
