It is a recreational park that opens its grounds to weddings, banquets, and gatherings of every kind, and much of its welcome comes from the setting itself. Guests find a choice of indoor and open-air settings. The Banquet Hall is a customizable room framed by wooden beams, with an adjoining patio just outside — an easy fit for wedding receptions and milestone celebrations. Beyond it, the Overlook Terrace sets ceremonies against the valley below, and a courtyard offers another spot to exchange vows in the open air. The Resort at Glade Springs occupies 4,100 acres in the Appalachian Mountains of Daniels, West Virginia, a short drive from New River Gorge National Park. It brings together, on a single property, most of what a multi-day celebration calls for: championship golf, a full-service spa, on-site dining, outdoor adventures, and lodging that ranges from guest rooms to suites and standalone vacation rentals. For weddings, meetings, and private events, the resort keeps more than 15,000 square feet of flexible space across two hubs, the Inn and the Clubhouse. Indoor options run from the chandelier-lit Bright Ballroom to the crescent-shaped Glade Room and the wood-beamed Woodland Room; ceremonies and receptions can also move outdoors to the Lawn, the Bright Terrace, or the landscaped Town Square with its stone fire ring. Together the spaces handle gatherings from roughly 100 guests up to several hundred. We were delighted when our daughter, Kellan, got engaged in 2011. It had always been her dream to have her wedding on our farm, and we wanted to make that dream a reality for her. So that's how it started... We seeded and mowed the pasture on a consistent basis throughout 2012. Tents were erected. We rented everything from chairs and tables to linens, porta-potties, generators, and flood lights. We constructed a wedding arch, brought in a cattle trailer load of mums, and spent weeks decorating and preparing the venue for the big event. It was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful! We were all exhausted by the time the wedding day arrived. We also realized that we would have to dismantle everything, return the rentals, and clean up the following day, which added to our stress. It was at this point that the concept of an event venue was conceived. The following six years, every time my wife and I would attend a wedding at a venue, we would say, "I think we could do this." Everyone's favorite venue was different and beautiful in its own way. In fact, we even made mental notes of all the things we liked best about each venue; however, the idea didn't become a reality until Lydia, our "daughter," tied the knot in February 2018. "Let's do this," we said as we walked away. As a result, the planning process began in March of 2018. Construction finally started in October of last year. The team jumped on board with our builder and worked together to create what is now a beautiful 6000 sq. ft. main event barn that is both heated and air-conditioned. A full-service commercial kitchen, ADA-compliant bathrooms, and a loft with couple's suites are all included in the rental price. In addition, there is a covered veranda with casual seating, a patio/fire pit area, an elegant outdoor wedding ceremony setting complete with seating and fireplaces, a pond and fountains for photos, a gazebo for sheltering from the elements, and ample parking. So, at long last, our dream of providing a space for you to realize your ambitions has become a reality. Wedding packages include access to the venue on the day before and the day of your wedding, as well as on the day of your reception. At no additional charge, a rehearsal dinner can be held in the ballroom.
