    Great Central Brewing

221 N Wood St, Chicago, IL 60612, USA

Every day, we put forth the effort to serve ideas and our community with passion, vigor, and muscle. We are committed to ensuring that the Chicago-born spirit of creativity continues to pulse and thrive around the world. For the simple reason that there is always a solution, always a means to go forward. Great Central Brewing Company was founded in 2015 by two friends who are passionate about beer, like bringing their ideas to life, and want to make a positive contribution to the craft beer world. It was named after the Great Central Train Station, which was once the hub of our country's economy. We hope you like the beer! Trains circulated through Chicago like veins and arteries, linking people, places, and plans. Chicago was a city of veins and arteries. Makers from all over the world gathered to the Great Central Marketplace to trade their wares and ideas with one another. That is why we are known as Great Central Brewing Company; we want to pay tribute to this "great central" legacy via everything we make as a team. We create excellent, time-tested beers. We are not influenced by fashion and believe in what is always wonderful. This time-honored technique of brewing, in our opinion, promotes a traditional Chicago attitude: work hard, be kind to one another, and occasionally enjoy a drink with your neighbors.

6300 S. Lake Shore Drive (E. Hayes Drive @ Lake Michigan) is the address for 63rd Street Beach in Jackson Park. This beach offers a wide range of amenities to visitors. Stop by Belly Up for delicious Jamaican cuisine, or Leave With a Smile for snacks and drinks. Restrooms, interactive water fountains, showers, and meeting rooms are all available to beachgoers at the historic beach house. It is possible to rent the beach house. In 1871, the renowned Central Park designers, Olmsted & Vaux, built Jackson Park, as well as the adjacent Midway Plaisance and Washington Park. By 1888, the region had a paved beach built of granite bricks that covered the whole lakefront in Jackson Park. Given that untreated sewage was being poured into Lake Michigan at the time, it's no surprise that the beaches were used as paved walkways for strolling or promenading rather than wading or bathing. When Chicago's ingenious Drainage Canal was completed in 1899 and began transporting sewage to other sites, the lakefront became a popular spot for public swimming. After receiving several requests from South Side residents for larger beaches at the turn of the century, the South Park Commissioners opted to expand the beach sand area. In 1914, they devised a new plan for the landfill, and three years later, the 10-acre beach extension was completed. By 1919, an elegant bathing pavilion had been built near to the beach as part of this concept. The bathing pavilion, now known as the 63rd Street Beach House, was renovated by the Chicago Park District in 2000. The 63rd Street Beach House is a beautiful Classical Revival structure. The remarkable structure was designed by South Park Commission in-house architects. The magnificent exposed-aggregate concrete building, completed in 1919, takes full advantage of Lake Michigan with its open balconies and loggias (ground-level open-air galleries), allowing for lovely lake vistas and nice breezes. Bathrooms and baths, medical facilities, and separate courtyards for men and women with hundreds of wooden changing booths were all given in the past. The open courtyards are now tastefully landscaped places with an interactive water element, rather than wooden booths (made possible by the Max Schiff Foundation).

Begin your life together in Chicago's Lincoln Park, surrounded by the natural beauty and tranquility of a unique National Historic Landmark. The Lily Pool features an aesthetically important pavilion, a cascading waterfall, and native vegetation, and was designed by Alfred Caldwell in 1936. The Chicago Park District and the Lincoln Park Conservancy restored the Lily Pool to Caldwell's original design from 1998 to 2002, after decades of erosion and deterioration. The Conservancy is pleased to offer this natural haven as a location for your small wedding ceremony, proposal, or photos. The Lincoln Park Conservancy requires that all wedding, engagement, family, and other professional photos get a permit in advance. From May through mid-October, the Lily Pool holds seasonal events. During the Air and Water Show, it is also closed on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Enter a hidden garden of unparalleled beauty through the Prairie-style Fullerton gate. Only the sound of birdsong and a soothing waterfall breaks the peaceful silence. Discover a pavilion, council ring, and different native flora along the stone walk around the lily pool. A hidden garden for the people of Chicago, created to resemble a river meandering over a vast Midwestern plain, is landscape architect Alfred Caldwell's concept. The Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool was originally part of a Victorian garden that included tropical lilies and other water plants and was created in 1889. The Lily Pool and its surrounding area fell into ruin after the Victorian-style garden fell out of favor, until Alfred Caldwell rebuilt the pool and its surroundings in 1936.

    Mundano

    1935 N Lincoln Park W, Chicago, IL 60614, USA

The name "Mundano" comes from the Spanish word "worldly," which Chef Ross Henke considered when creating the cuisine. Henke plans to rely on his recognized experience with Latin American cuisine, but he'll focus on the New American style, merging a range of inspirations and culinary techniques to create flavors that are both stunning and memorable. Mundano is a true neighborhood restaurant, located on a quiet street in Chicago's gorgeous Lincoln Park—though we feel neighborhood refers to sentiment more than a physical location. We believe that value is created via the experience, which is derived not just from our upgraded food and beverage program, but also from our staff and the positive, forward-thinking culture we are cultivating together. We hope you'll feel completely at home in our four walls, surrounded by the warmth and acceptance we've created, and inspired by our menu, which combines a variety of inspirations and cooking techniques to create flavors that are both stunning and memorable.

Mary Attea is the Executive Chef at The Musket Room in Manhattan's Nolita area, a Michelin-starred restaurant. When the pandemic struck the following month, she played a critical role in assisting the all-female ownership and management team in weathering the storm and maintaining their Michelin star. Hopleaf

5148 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60640, USA
    • Spaces for 40 Guests

Hopleaf Bar has anchored Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood since 1992, built around a commitment to craft beer and Belgian-inspired cooking. The bar pours from 62 taps alongside an ever-rotating selection of bottles covering Belgian ales, fine wines, spirits, and ciders — a breadth of selection that has made it a destination for enthusiasts across the city. The kitchen extends that same philosophy to food: nearly everything is made from scratch in-house, from stocks and charcuterie to housemade sausages, with sourcing guided by a preference for pasture-raised meats, organic produce, and sustainably harvested seafood. The bar's signature mussels and frites reflect its Belgian roots and remain a fixture on a menu that shifts with the seasons. The space itself carries the character of its long history — exposed brick walls hung with vintage Belgian beer advertisements, a classic wood bar, an ornate tin ceiling, and a quiet back dining room anchored by a wood stove. Hopleaf is an adults-only venue, and limited reservations are available through Tock for those planning ahead, while the majority of tables remain open for walk-ins.
